Bumped into a white '05 STI at the gas station and talked to the driver for a good 30 minutes about each other's cars. I didn't get his name, but his alternator cover had an AKIC sticker on it.

Sorry for the blurry picture. I was shivering, not having a jacket. I'm parked behind him...a taxi driver was taking pics of our cars too

I assume you realize due to your tint that you're no longer able to be acknowledged.

Because I know you and could safely assume that my car and the one behind me would have caught your attention. My point, which I know you understood, is that myself, nor anyone else, is able to see you, or any gestures you make, from your vehicle. Comma.

Ooooh! I wasn't sure if you meant as my car is now, no one can see me, or after I get this 40% front windshield tint done today that there's no chance in hell of anyone noticing a wave from me. OR I wasn't sure if you were being humorously racist.

I was hoping for racist, but I gotcha now. I did have a silver bugeye wave at me AFTER I waved at them the other day, so you're wrong. And bad. You're badong.

40% honestly isn't that bad:

You can still see inside the cabin even at a glance:

For whatever reason, on my BRZ, 30% front windows and 20% rear windows lookes more like 40% front windows and 30% rear windows. It's really light. With my WRX I had the exact same setup except for a 5% eyebrow. I'm positive that super dark eyebrow is what does it. I've driven in front of and next to cops for months now with no issues. With the 40% front windshield tint there's a noticeable reduction in glare from oncoming traffic's headlights that it's totally worth it to me.

I'll keep you posted if a cop thinks otherwise, but I did try to play it safe with this tint. My car's so low that everyone shines into it. My auto-dimming mirror should be here any day, so that will really help when driving around.

I do appreciate the concern, though. I just don't think cops are looking for Subaru coupes when it comes to troublemakers. Tinted sedans and hatches, though, seem to be a much different story.

dude that looks awesome! i was really considering getting a brow but i may just do a full windshield too. gotta let me sit in it sometime. to be honest, i thought i would get problems from the Police about my tint so ive been expecting to get pulled over. But i think theres just something about black cars that just seem to fall under the radar.
