DESERT AUTOSPORT IS VERY PLEASED TO BRING TO THE MARKETPLACE THIS 2001 MITSUBISHI LANCER EVOLUTION. THIS IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE MOST RECOGNIZABLE AND FAMOUS EVO IN THE WORLD!!! IT IS THE ACTUAL MOVIE CAR FROM 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS AND WAS THE LEAD CAR DRIVEN BY THE MAIN CHARACTER. THIS IS THE CAR USED FOR ALL THE CLOSE UP SHOTS. IT WAS IMPORTED LEGALLY INTO THE UNITED STATES FOR FILMING THE MOVIE AND THE MOVIE WAS RELEASED AROUND THE SAME TIME THE U.S. VERSION OF THE EVO HIT THE STREETS AND MADE THE CAR THE HOTTEST IMPORT CAR ON THE STREETS.

IT HAS ONLY 800 MILES ON IT AND IS LEGAL TO BE REGISTERED ON THE STREETS. WE HAVE A CLEAN ARIZONA TITLE AND HAVE OWNED THE CAR IN OUR PRIVATE COLLECTION SINCE 2011. IT IS ONE OF THE FEW CARS FROM ALL THE FAST AND FURIOUS MOVIES THAT ACTUALLY IS FAST. IT IS A REAL EVOLUTION VII AND THEY WERE FAST STOCK.

IT IS EXACTLY LIKE YOU SEE IT IN THE MOVIE EXCEPT IT DOES NOT HAVE AN ELABORATE ONBOARD COMPUTER AND DOES NOT SOUND LIKE IT HAS A BLOWOFF VALVE INSIDE THE CAR.

IF YOU SCROLL DOWN THE PICTURES YOU WILL SEE IT IS ON THE COVER OF THE MOVIE BOX, THE COVER OF THE FAST AND FURIOUS CARS BOOK AND HAS A COMPLETE WRITE UP OF THE MAKING OF THE CAR. THIS IS WITHOUT A DOUBT A PIECE OF MOVIE HISTORY AND HAS TO BE THE MOST FAMOUS JAPANESE IMPORT MOVIE CAR OF ALL TIME. THIS IS A GREAT ADDITION TO ANY COOL CAR COLLECTION.

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE GIVE US A CALL AT 480-894-4004. FOR MORE INFORMATION ON THIS EVO, GO TO OUR WEBSITE AT DESERTAUTOSPORT.COM

One observation that is becoming more and more readily accessible for people, is finding a car from WA or another west coast state (dealer preferrably) and paying the cost to ship it up to AK. Even for new vehicles, it still winds up being cheaper, including shipping ($850-1400), then paying for cost from local dealers. Or you could just fly down, which is only $350ish now to Seattle, and drive it back up and make for a nice road trip. Not to mention...we have no Mitsu dealers up here, so shipping was my only option.

That's a reasonable price! For perspective on what you might spend driving through Canada, I was averaging 37 mpg going and spent about $375 on Premium gas. That's REAL life experience right there, so you can trust that business! Word up!

When I shipped my STI from Washington in June of 2008 it cost about $1,200 and the price was expected to go up about 2%. That was through RB Logistics. That's also first-hand, real life stuff right there that you can take to the bank.

Don't ever change Chano. You guys are bringing amusement this week.

Btw thanks for posting the cost. We're looking at bringing a car up from Washington and I was curious on the gas costs.

Edit: how's the road conditions these days coming up?

You can't change ME! I'm the gingerbread man!

They're actually very reasonable. Canada puts up little pink flags at any trouble spots. On the way down I saw them patching up potholes. I was about halfway through them and had dodged a few. On the way up they were all completely covered.

It's that spot between Tok and Canada that you have to watch out for. It drove me NUTS both ways, more so on the return trip. Alaska doesn't leave any kind of warnings. They figure 55MPH is sufficient...

Photographic evidence that I was there.

There's a few kilometers of gravel, but nothing killer. I got the car sideways a bit a few times just having fun.

Ooops! More proof! You can see some dipping of the road in this pic.

^From WA now I believe its around $1700 now give or take. If you got the time, driving through Canada is the way to go. If you're planning on buying a vehicle from Ca and need it transported to Wa then to AK, let me know, got the best deal on pricing fully enclosed or open trailer then any other transporter around. He did my Gtr fully enclosed for more than 2k off every other business.

I went through alaska Auto Transport. Was 1100$ out of Kent, WA. Enclosed conex, and delivery to their store off old seward. Tool about 10 days from the time of drop off. That was the beginning of May.

While on this conversation of driving through Canada...

I'm driving out of here beginning of January. What do I need to know and what do I really need to have with me for safety? Thanks

Tip 1: Don't bring pistols or ammunition into the border crossing. You'll piss them off something fierce :-/

Be sure you have your U.S. Passport or U.S. Passport Card.

This is a good article to read up on and prep your ride for winter driving outside the comforts of suburbia.

As mentioned with guns ammo, don't forget to leave the pepper spray at home too. It's apparently illegal in Canadia.
