http://www.tune86.com/ft-86-forum/17...-formula-drift With the benefits of DI, it honestly wouldn't make much sense to me to use anything other than the FA20 unless it turns out the block is fragile, etc. The JDM GT BRZ racecar also uses an older turbo Subaru engine. Someone also has put a 2JZ Supra engine into one but again they are very custom jobs with a lot of money put into them. But I believe these racecars use the older engines due to the development time into them over the years as opposed to a brand new platform. Last edited by dwx; 09-06-2012 at 09:44 AM. |

Part of me is just waiting for this thing to explode like every other Subaru motor. The other part hopes they really did make an effort to design something that can hold some power for more than 15 minutes. It would be exciting if they did design the motor and trans with much greater HP in mind, but it seems doubtful given the usual trends in manufacturing.

Nah, good tuning is whats kept it together so far. its making serious power. The threshold of maximum power has to be coming up shortly. I think in the future like any other car there will be the ppl that push stock blocks to 450-500 whp and then there will be the more conservative bunch who want them to live and be reliable who might fall into the 300-380 whp area. Who knows maybe the ecu is more powerful and is doing a better job.

Very nice guys. I can't see sheet what is 60 ft? Did you guys tweak the lc at all or just getting more seat time?

That's what I assumed. Will go faster with more seat time. How was the lc this time? Better launch?
Different tire pressure? Changed lc settings? More spin? Less spin..... Last edited by stretchedk7; 09-06-2012 at 06:38 PM. |

The older slips had the wrong date as well. Great results, it took a heck of a lot longer to get the WRX running those kind of times back when it came out.

Last time we went to the track the date was a day off on the slip.. This stuff happens all the time.
They're preparing the video |
