Default Cheaper Alternative to work kiwami.

Hi, I have an 11 red hatch and have fallen in love with the look of the 18x9.5 cr ultimates.. I have decided I don't want to spend 2k on rims that will get damaged on our dirty dirty roads here in Seattle. So the only alternative I have really come up with are the Rota torque, I want them in bronze so the drags that only come in silver don't fit what I'm looking for.

Is there any that have the similar look and aren't laughable like people seem to think about Rotas? The mugen cf10 look like they would work but that's a Honda thing :P

Also I keep reading that 9.5 hurts steering feel and nobody ever goes into detail.. Do they cause excessive under steer? Or maybe cause the steering wheel to feel heavy?

My main reason for wanting to change is that I hate the stock tires, they slide so easily and I keep feeling like my back end is greasy (lol) while accelerating through mild curves. I play too much, maybe I should've gotten the sti.

Thanks for any Info

Rotas are arguably the next best thing to "name brand" manufacturers.

That's what I thought but people used to give me a hard time about the circuit 10's I had on my tsx. But that was the Honda world where it's all about being cool rather than enjoy your car.

so....instead of buying better tires and getting a better alignment and modding the suspension, ya just jump into too much wheel thinking that it is gonna fix the main issue????

this is erronious thought process

So... if I am complaining about the stock tires, and my stock rims are 17x8 inches wide. WHY AND HOW WOULD I EVER PUT THOSE TIRES ON 18x9.5 RIMS. Obviously I am getting new rubber with the rims..

I am just looking for metal that looks similar to the CR ultimates or Kai, yet doesn't cost over 2k for a set.

I already ordered White line Sways and end links. I am hoping the sways + 275 tires will be enough. I don't want to end up with coil overs cause I already have issues clearing the front bumper with all the crazy side streets and pot holes up here.

I'm not concerned with a mild increase in rotating mass, as I am already trying to slow it down a little. I just want that beautiful cornering I got out of the TSX.. WRX feels heavy and slippery.

Maybe I just need the sways and stick with stock tire dimensions. But I would still like a nicer looking rim that is easier to clean that the 15 spokes from the factory.

You need better tires, not necessarily wider tires.

So do you have anything against the Dunlop direzza sport z1 star spec? Other than being the highest price in the bracket :P
