Ok, made more progress last night. Got the heads installed... it's getting so close to running I can almost smell it!

Here's an interesting tidbit of information for you guys (some may already know this). If you are ever doing a timing belt on one of these engines are you are concerned about a valve hitting a piston, don't be alarmed. As long as the crank marking is at 12 o clock, this is where your pistons are:


Just Thought I would share that, nice piece of mind. Now the valves interfering, that another story .

ARP L19s (torqued to 95ft lbs)

its ok looks better than mine. I am still contemplating between hta86, 6766, 37r, 40r, or 42.

Im looking boost wise between 30-40. power wise im thinking a few dyno pulls in the 750 plus range and then ill back the boost back down for normal playing.

fabbed this up not to long ago. Surprisingly with 3 inch piping and 5 inch thick core spool didnt change from perrin....well about 300 rpm.

anyway didnt mean to thread jack. keep the updates coming

The concern is not with the valves hitting the pistons, rather it is with them hitting the exhaust valves when setting the timing belt.

Yeah for real. Set one yesterday with aftermarket springs. Used my new tools. Smoothest one so far, one try and done.

One slip is all it takes.
