Default What are the widest tires I can get?

What are the widest tires I can get on a 17x7.5 and a 17x8 will 245/40/17 fit or will I need to roll my fenders and how much will it throw off my mph? Thank you

you aren't really helping.

what will FIT and what is BEST are two completely different answers.

17x7.5 AND 17x8?

17x8 max 245/40 for BEST FIT. 17x7.5 225/45.

Thanks, I said 2 different sizes cuz there's 2 different set of rims I'm looking at.

get the 17x8 and put a 235/40 on them

i have found this to work very well as it shortens the gearing a bit which is great for a wrx

the federal 595RS-R is a great summer tire for the $$$ and they run VERY WIDE for their given size

i just want to mention that the only reason i am considering these tires for my new Gramslight's is because you preach about them. It's between the rsr's and hankook rs-3's.

Here goes Uncle again. V12 are fine touring summer tires. Not enough feedback for high performance but good performance levels none the less.

He bough them, he used them, he hates them.

I bought them, I used them I liked them for my daily driving, not track, not any racing.
