Default Trouble shooting a lighting issue

I am currently having some problems with a set one of my headlights that I cant seem to figure out. I have v7 HID projector head lights with OEM ballasts and a lightwerkz harness.2 days ago my drivers side high and low beam stopped working. I've check all of the fittings and conectors and everything seems to be okay. This mornig on the ride to work, I saw the reflection on the back of the car and the low beam was flickering. Could this be a problem with the ballast itself? should I buy a new bulb? Any input would be appreciated.

How old are the HIDs? Were DRLs disabled when they were installed?

The bulbs were brand new 6 months ago. DRL's were not disabled.

The trouble could be due to a number of things. I suggest you get a voltmeter and verify the ballast is getting 12 volts to it while the lights are on. Also make sure the ground connection to the ballast of the bad light has no voltage drop across it. If those things are ok then you might try swapping the lights to see if that makes a difference. If that doesn't help then the ballast would seem to be the trouble.

I'll do those checks after work today. If the ballast is indeed bad, what would your recommendations be for replacement? I plan on having them retrofitted to correct the RHD cutoff in the coming weeks so I don't want too expensive of a replacemt, but I don't want Chinese trash either. Does anyone have any experiences with the Phillips ones?

I took a set out for a guy, once the headlight was out of the car, found a poor crimp to ground. Tested it after making a good ground was working again. But he wanted regular bulbs anyway.
