Default 3rd brake light required? Help!

I have an 07 sti and want to go wingless is the 3rd brake light required in az?

You can pick up a new rear deck trim off of a wingless WRX, STi Limited, or 07 Impreza, all of which have the 3rd light in the back window. That way you don't have to worry about it. Correct me if I am wrong, but as far as I know it is required in every state.

It's a federal requirement set by DOT.

It's also a very good idea to have it. The last thing you want is some old lady plowing into the back of your car and then having her insurance refuse to pay because your car was missing a government mandated safety feature.

Per Az, you need one working brake light to the rear. It use to be you needed all 3, unless your vehicle didn't come with three. But case law has changed that recently. So if you have one red brake light to the rear, you are good to go.
