I dunno if Subaru ones are available, but I don't see why not.

I bought a refurb on eBay a few years ago for a 96 Nissan Sentra. It was like $126 shipped. It was nice and clean when it arrived and it installed and worked great for 2 days. Then the clutch worked its way loose and would not engage. After I tightened it back down, it worked again. It's been on the car for over 3 summers now without issue. I don't recall the seller, but they were based in Michigan and had tons of good feedback.

And for what it's worth, the Sentra unit was identical to my WRX one except for the pulley size and electrical connector.

Check out the SCIC vendor thread. I think some shop is selling rebuilt AC units.

EDIT: only Power Steering. Sorry

''Reman'' Is always a gamble in my opinion. I have installed both new and rebuild, and have positive experiences with both.

BUT the risk is they rebuilder's opinion of ''rebuilt".....often times if the compressor was just leaking, they just reseal it. As the above poster said, the clutch wasnt securely installed. Rebuilt does not always mean that every part of the component was replaced, usually on the portion that tested bad.

If its the only option, then pull the trigger, if you can get new, usually the cost difference isnt much, if we are talking aftermarket of course.

You can contact

They sell & reseal compressors.
