I'd be surprised if it wasn't available on Android. I was mostly just bringing it up because I think it's a pretty good app and (IIRC) free.

Like I said, quick and dirty. I'll try to compare the 4S tomorrow. It's appalling how awful the 4 was in low light. Camera phones as a while, have made huge strides over the last two years.

Video should be up in a few min and ill link it. Quick and dirty edit.

Edit: I also said you could help minimize the issue, but not entirely in some photos. Really depends on how bad it was in the shot.
I too am in the photography field, not as a career but as a hobby. It wouldn't be effective for a phone to fix those issues real time. Would make the time between photos painfully long. Not to mention the average iphone user probably couldn't tell you what white balance or even crop means. They expect to be able to use the camera and they expect it to work 99% of the time. Point is if a phone camera is a main selling point of the phone then it should work pretty damn good.

You did a good job with that video, thanks. It certainly gave me a good feel for the problem.

Agreed, it would work better as a selected process after the photo is taken. Although the built in HDR is pretty quick so I would be surprised if it took any longer.

Sometimes I find my better/sharper lenses to be more susceptible to glare in non optimal conditions. And for that extra sharpness I don't mind not being able to have a bright light source right on the edge of my frame....... Why would you want that anyway? But at the end of it all, they all have some lens flare/glare, so do you want a purple hue to yours or just white? Either way you're ending up with a **** photo.

Thanks, I felt doing clips of video mode would help show how the angle is so important. In the photo parts those were the max for the flare on each.

I wonder what will happen if you buy an iPhone 5 and take a picture of your purple drank at sunset.

Just found a nice new feature (I think it's new). If I open a YouTube video in safari and exit the phone (blank screen) then double click as you would to access music, it plays the audio of the YouTube clip. I'm not sure if this was the case with the old iOS as we had a YouTube app. Thing that annoyed me with the YouTube app is if I wanted to listen to a specific song, I had to leave the video open and couldn't close the phone.

Let me know if you have success with this cause I tried this exact tactic earlier tonight. I too need a reliable map program for work and was told to just download the google maps app from the map store and this was the "tech guy" telling me this. Then the old " switching carriers" thing didn't seem to carry any weight.

iPhone 5 vs iPhone 4 vs Canon 5D MKII video/photo Purple Glare - YouTube
that's cool and all except no one gives a **** about the 4. The 4s has the better camera, and the only difference between it and the 5 are a couple lens elements.

That's why I plan to do another tomorrow with a 4S. The one guy in the studio with the 4S has already left and I didn't realize it till after we started the test.

Yes, I did that all the time when I had iOS5. It worked with Safari and the Youtube app.

I'll let ya know. I've accomplished similar before by just being a very squeaky wheel. Though the last time they tried to replace a defective phone I had with a "comparable" model that wasn't so I had a bit more ground to stand on.

You could actually fix it (to a degree) with programming. We have some tools we use to compensate for different lens cast.

I was just speaking with a client who did this. Some girl offered him $1k for his i5 and he sold it on the spot (who wouldn't???), he said the lack of google maps pushed him over the edge. Turned around and picked up a GS3.

By saying "programming" I am inferring that "programmers" could remove that. Again back to photoshop, it has the ability to remove red eye. Because we know of this, we know what is "capable". We can then say that "with programming" you could remove red eye on a GS3/i5/i4 etc etc.

Post Processing is the word you're looking for. Using the correct terminology can help save posts like these.
