Yeah true one thing is SBSettings, unless all the videos I've seen they had their phones rooted

Wow.

Even Jailbroken... Cydia follows in Apple's footsteps.

$3 for an app that allows you to attach any filetype to an email (WTF?)
$5 for multitasking app (WTF?)
$4 for a local file explorer
$2.19 for Adblocker
$3 for app to enable uploading in Safari.
$4 for app to customize ringers and notifications
$6 for app to add music controls to drop down.
$5 for app to share files over bluetooth
$1 for an app locker

Everything I posted above is either built in or available ad-free from the Market on Android.

This is really the bragging point of jailbreaking?

I dunno why theirs still multitasking or the custom ringtones in cydia, the iPhone has multitasking already and custom ringtones lol, and free ringtone apps plus iTunes has the ability to make a ringtone out of any song you own and I dunno wtf the ad blocker is about I don't have any issues with ads at all never have, and theirs free file sharing apps on the App Store also, along with free file managers(just found some while I was looking for the file sharing apps), the only things iPhones don't have are the music controls I the drop down menu, which I find pointless when I can just browse my music from my car or flip to the next track on the lock screen, another thing I personally wouldn't ever use is uploading files to safari but some might

One last thing by app locker do you mean so people can't open it? If so the iPhone already has that built in... Also seems to me like you just looked for the most expensive versions of all those things... Ok ill stop feeding the troll now

Despite my earlier post, it is nice to change the things you can change for free.

There is no way I would give these people any kind of money though for paid apps.

Anyone have a 3rd party insurance/warranty plan for their iPhone 5? I'm thinking of going through Squaretrade (I'm certain I'll drop and break it at some point). Are there any other better options out there? I know SquareTrade is the biggest name in the game, but that doesn't always mean they're the best.

If you have any aptitude with small screwdrivers and prying tools you can fix just about anything breakable cheaply at home. A good case is much better insurance against damage than a policy.

I bought an Otterbox Commuter case, since I've had good luck with Otterbox products in the past... Though the Defender case on my GSII was way too big and I took it off... Bad idea, three months later, the screen is toast.

Just purchased my 5 and some 2pc INcase from BestBuy like an idiot when I could've gone on here and seen the trident suggested.

I would have posted this in the iPhone 4s thread but I can't find it. Anyway, I'm trying to jailbreak my phone using this: http://modmyi.com/content/9953-how-j...e-evasi0n.html

When I click on the link to download Evasi0n for iOSX, it goes to a page that my laptop cant read for some reason. It's just a bunch of weird characters. What do I have to do to download Evasi0n?

I just have to download it to my laptop and I'm using X. I guess I should have said OS X.

EDIT: That link you gave me worked, thanks!

PDANET. MyWi is still visible to ATT and Verizon and they WILL move you to a tethering plan, and if you are still unlimited, they will move you to a tiered plan.

This^ I had to fu****g brawl with them when they busted me tethering. I was using MyWi. They forgave me once. Then I tried it again and got busted again. Had to fight tooth and nail to keep my unlimited and swear to never do it again. Honestly I kinda thought they were bluffing at first trying a scare tactic to get people off unlimited so I denied denied denied. I was wrong lol

Nope. Verizon cannot do crap about your tethering. They are forbidden from doing so because it was a condition imposed on them by the government when they purchased spectrum.

They of course don't want you to know that.

Oh, true, forgot about that. They will do their best to get you onto a tiered plan, though.

It's a fair criticism. Android has a bit more customization ability out-of-the-box for sure. But there are trade-offs. I'm in the process of switching right now (I've got an iPhone 5 and a Nexus 4; I've had every iPhone but the 3G and this is my first Android smartphone). Comparing the two phones, it's actually hard to declare one better than the other. I had some specific reasons for getting the N4 (bigger screen, nobody trying to stop you from jailbreaking, for example) but giving up some handy toys on iOS (e.g. Find My Friends, iMessage) is a bigger hassle than I anticipated. Overall I'm struck by how much alike they really are, rather than different. You've seen one, you've seen both, for the most part.

This is my story exactly. Every iphone except the 3G. I am highly interested in the S4. I think I might take it for a test run when it comes out and see how I stack the pros and cons based on my personal uses and needs. Apple is at a very important crossroad. Evolve and innovate now or slowly slide into the back row. iPhones are safe. I've never had a problem and they've always served me well. But it does feel like I've kind of had the same phone for 5-6 years now. I'm curious how I'll like a different OS on a different phone. I'm an Apple fan for sure but I wouldn't mind some change and difference.
