Default Sti body control unit swap

Has anyone attempted to get the stalk dimmer to work by swapping to an Sti body control unit, in a WRX?

What you swapping? Cluster gauge? If you are then 04-06 sti gauges you adjust the dimming on the cluster itself. Just trying to figure out what your trying to do. Maybe their is a difference in body control unit I don't know about.

I'm swapping a 2004 Sti Cluster into a 2002 WRX.
I have read the thread about this and am aware of the dimming from the cluster control.

But my nature is to try to get every item to be 100% functional, I'm just not happy if it's not.

So I'm after the dimming from the stalk feature.

Edit: I can see that the wiring is different to the integrated control unit, which is where the dimmer goes, between my 2002 WRX and the '04 sti, but I can also see that the part number for this controller is the same for an '04 WRX, as well as an '04 Sti.
I'm going to try to compare the wiring between the Sti and the WRX for an '04.
But since I don't think that the 04 WRX owners that swapped an 04 Sti cluster could dim from the stalk, I think there is a wiring difference, to the integrated controller.

There is a part number difference for an early '02 WRX controller to an '04 Sti. So if an '04 WRX can use the stalk dimmer for the sti cluster, then the answer is to get that integrated controller.
