Question 03 Bugeye - My Issue with limp mode

My 03 WRX is currently sitting in limp mode. Had for awhile now, been looking it over reading this forum, getting help from a few buddies. Can't figure it out. I just picked my car up from IPS Motorsports here in Columbus, Ohio after it was sitting there for a month getting worked on on and off. Basically they told me there lost in fixing it and i just gave up on them and picked it up. When they run diag on it they are getting a boost leak @7psi they said. Can't find it, tested the system to 30psi and can't find a single leak. My IAM drops to like 8 sometimes, but only when i get into boost(So i'm getting knock from something). And i get instant Limp mode once i hit like 13-14psi(Tuned for 21psi)

So i'm asking everyone what could it be?

Maybe a bad intake manifold gasket?

For those reading in and out, that might not know to what he's referring to: http://www.grego.ca/limp.htm

I personally am not sure what can be wrong. Might just need to replace the computer. Sounds like you should contact Subaru.

What is the MAP reporting with the engine off? At idle? Did the motorsports guys check you manifold harness? It carries all of the signals from the sensors to the computer. My car had a "map sensor high circuit" CEL and would cut fuel and timing every time I hit wastegate spring pressure, after my first turbo swap. I spent weeks ordering sensors, cleaning grounds and checking for boost/vacuum leaks. Eventually, I got ahold of a use engine harness from another member. After I installed it, the problem disappeared.

I honestly don't know what the MAP was reporting when the engine is off and at idle. They said they were getting crazy readings from it and i suppose they fixed the problem. CHecking the harness i really highly doubt they did. Hey would you go about checking it and what would i be looking for? ( i know pike pinched or broken wires, but anything else?)

Posting datalogs would probably be a wise idea. It's not like we can see your car in person or ride in it. Take the car to a different shop.

ive been tryin to help him with his heap a little lately, i can email anyone the log after the ecu had been reset, 3rd gear pull from around 2500 to 6000, you can see half way through where the IAM drops from 16 to 12 to 8 relatively quickly. I am new to data logging and tuning theory but i am now aware that IAM isnt affected by FLKC. will do some more logs with different parameters asap
