just have it made locally custom. Usually cheaper than a premade kit and fits your exact needs. Why you would want a turbo that large trying to breath through a oem tmic is beyond me though.

The pic with the cosworth manifold is phatron's, the rest are my brothers (he built), same kit, built at Alliance Fab in Anaheim, CA

Hey! That's a totally legit question. Why the heck would I go through all that trouble just to constrain a larger turbo on a heat soaked contraption that the TMIC is??!

Here are my bare necessities:
1. I want to keep my fog lights
2. I want to to keep my windshield washer bottle
3. I want to keep the factory battery in the factory location
4. I need the factory bumper beam intact and in place?

Unlike yall'z snazzy STi's, I drive a 2004 Forester XT. If you've ever sniffed around subaruforester.org (you probably wouldn't unless you're a Fozz addict like me) you will realize there is a complete dearth of kits for 2004/2005 FXT FMIC. See THIS thread. Strange, because there are a million simple bolt on FMIC's for WRX's & STi's -- you'd think that it would be like LEGOS... but then where are the 04/05 FXT direct bolt ons? None! lol! I would LOVE to have an FMIC but the way these cars are designed, it's nigh impossible to meet my basic criteria without taking my car to the butcher and I'm not prepared to do that. I'll go bolt on Dom 4xtr before I do that - which btw, I may very well do just that.

well have fun with that.

You could also have a reputable shop build a fmic for about the price a spearco tmic would cost and be alot less cussing everytime the elbow blows off the turbo when you go wot.

Thanks! I'll have fun with whatever you are implying I have fun with! Don't remember saying this thread was about using a Spearco but fantastic contribution nonetheless!

If you haven't already done so, look into the RacerX FMIC. They might have them for the XT, I'm not sure. I ran one on my 05 LGT and it worked well, and the LGT has some of the same fitment issies.

Bummer - I read through the thread, and all he does is specific year WRX/STi's and LGT's. Getting an FMIC to work on the FXT without major sacrifices is quite a challenge, and I don't think many people realize that.

Irv - those kits look amazing! Any idea on price for the up pipe, down pipe intake and the elbow adapter that hooks up to the Y pipe?

You can fit a Perrin fmic on an FXT, a friend and I did it on his 04. But it was good he bought the kit used because we had to modify like crazy to make it fit well and even then it left something to be desired.

I have a turbo xs tmic on my car now and maybe upgraded to a ets down the road if a bigger turbo dictates. But for me it's not about the fitment or cutting, it's alot of work but could be done well if you really plan it out. It's that I Like to enter in rally cross and a few winter rally cross when I can and sooner or later with a fmic your going to bang it abit with out alot of fabed up protection. Tmic just suits my needs better.
