Default jdm sti v3 swapped into an 02 2.5ts

i have a 2.5 ts with a jdm sti v3 (ej20k) in it. i was talked into doing the swap and at the time i knew nothing at all about cars, so far it has been nothing but headaches. I have had it swapped for a little over a year and i need to get it inspected again. i want it to be legal because im tired of the shady stuff. I picked up an 02 wrx harness and ecu to replace the hacked wireing that lives there now (jdm spliced into factory harness). Currently i have the dash and dash bar out because i thought the 02 wrx stuff would be my savior but im not sure now. Is there anything i can do to get the car legal and tuned correctly so that it wont blow up? my plan was to get the 02 wrx bulkhead and engine harness which i did because it should be almost identical to my car beings that they are both 02 imprezas and use axcessport to tune it. Would that work? if not is there any other usdm ecu with obd2 that would? Any and all help would be appreciated very much. thank you.

Dude, you've got a TON of reading to do, not trying to be mean or blunt. The WRX wiring won't work with that motor, you're gonna have to keep it the way it is probably.

P.S. "legal" and "shady"? You need to be way more specific. Want to pass emissions? No one has any idea what you're saying.

ok at the moment there is no obd2. The body is an 02 2.5ts which has obd2. that is the problem. im looking to switch the ecu and bulkhead harness out (the one that is in there now is spliced with the jdm harness very messily and i dont like that) for emissions i need obd2 for it to pass. i picked up an 02 wrx harness and ecu, i don't think the 02 wrx ecu will work for the v3 motor. What im asking is what is there that is usdm with obd2 that will work for the motor i plan on either getting an access port or piggyback but a stand a lone wont give me obd2 so that is not an option.

If you have to pass emissions, you need to get a USDM EJ205 motor, and use the harness and ecu you picked up for that. Or register the car in a place that doesn't have emissions regulations.

You can't run a k engine on an 02 ecu. We've discussed this over and over. A quick search would have saved you money.

I'm running a phase one motor in my bugeye?

98 motor and intake, 02 wiring computer and sensors.

One thing though, it's a lot of work.

Custom timing cam gear, switched to USDM crank gear, and ran a USDM harness on the motor, re pinned the throttle position sensor, deleted idle air, new water temp sensor, td04, knock sensor, 02 intake and maf ect.....
