Is it a rectangular 6-pin plug connector (in advance of your posting of pics)?

Here they are. Also, my fog lights weren't working when I bought my car and I haven't tried to fix them yet. Could this have anything to do with that?

^Pics didn't show up for me...I'm guessing a relay (without seeing pics) because of the lack of fogs. Maybe that's why your fogs weren't working; because the relay was loose in its socket and now it just decided to fall out? They usually fit pretty snugly though.

yes it is, except there's only two pins in it. they look similar to the pins on anything you would plug into a wall. they run sideways and parallel to each other but there not lined up on top of each other

Pop off the coin tray, and you'll see the fuses...then look to the right of the fuses and you'll see a black column with other rectangular relays. I believe the fog relay is in the second slot from the bottom (you may need to pop off the lower dash to access the relays)

^^And heads up, they're a PITA to remove, so make sure you have some needle nose pliers or something of the like to remove it in case you put it back in the wrong spot. You'll know it's in the right place when your fogs start working

I'm currently not near my car to check but it's not a black chip like that. It's a white wiring harness with a black wire with a yellow stripe on it. The wire comes out of the harness and loops right back into it in the spot diagonally to the left of it. The wires about 3-4 inches long

Yes that's what it looks like. It only has plugs in the top middle terminal and bottom left terminal.

I believe that on the older GD/GG models that this was some type of test-connector that was taped in place to the harness, above the driver's left foot. Over time, the tape dries-out / separates and eventually this test-connector drops onto the floor.

I wouldn't throw it out. Just put into the glove-box or tape it back to the harness.
