Default HELP! Install of OEM FOG LIGHTS FOR 2012 IMPREZA WAGON 2.0

Hi I am looking for some advice. I have a 2012 Impreza Premium wagon. When I purchased the vehicle it did not come with fog lights. I am looking to buy them from a third party who is selling the fog light assembly but does not include the switch or fog light bezel etc. Just the fog lamp assembly. Since I want to keep them OEM I am getting the subaru one as opposed to some aftermarket fog light.

Does anyone know if I need to buy anything additional to get them working? Do i need to buy a new turn signal switch that has the fog lights on there to turn them on? Do I need the chrome bezel to install the fog light in the slot where there is a cap currently?

The guy is selling them for a third of what the part costs from the dealer which is why I rather buy it from him than to pay 200+ from the dealer.

Any help would be greatly appreciated since this is my first subby

I'm 99% sure that you'll need the headlight stalk if you want OEM fogs to work.

thakns for the reply garudatwo, it appears you can do it either via a oem switch that they sell (it comes with the fog light kit if installing fogs after purchase of vehicle) whereas its on the stalk if the car came with fogs installed.

i prefer the stalk but not sure how much of a pain removing the airbag etc will be since its a new car and new car to me.

anyone that installed oem fog light kit after purchasing vehicle confirm??

Not sure if this helps, but on the 02-07s the airbag is only two bolts, and you can just pull it out without unplugging the air bag, it's very simple.
Just look on the side of the steering wheel.

think we're both looking to buy from the same guy...

Think I'm just gonna go and find a switch - need more color on that side of the wheel anyways. Gonna see how much the switch and relay are tomorrow...

Not sure of that was serious, but once the bolts are out, yeah, it just pops out.

So I just got my new stalk and the fog lights (purchases in pieces as opposed to the entire kit from the dealer).....I think I need the relay and some screws to install the fog lights.

my question is....i noticed on the stalk/signal arm has on the headlight portion "auto" for auto headlights. However, my car did not come with the auto feature. So once I plug in this new stalk will I now have auto on/off headlights? is there a sensor i need to have that feature?

it would stink if I installed the whole new stalk with a "dead" feature.....just wondering if anyone ever bought the OEM factory foglight kit (which probably has everything you need).

Thanks in advance.

anyone know about installing a stalk with fog light and "auto" and removing my original stalk (without fog light and "auto") if the "auto" headlight function will work once i swap out the turn signal stalks to operate the oem fog lights that i am installing??

I have the auto feature. Debating on the bezel route vs stalk. Bezel route adds balance to that empty looking panel. .
