Default Car won't start when hot

Hey guys, I have a 94 Impreza L with a V2 STI swap. I recently got it off another member and about a month ago it started giving me an issue where the car will start and run perfectly fine, and then if I turn the car off and try to start it 10 minutes later it wont start, but if I wait about an hour it'll start up no problem. Any ideas?

Cam and/or crank sensor. Check the wiring at the sensor plugs first. If they look ok, then replace the sensors.

Could you explain "wont start" . Does it crank and not turn over or does it not crank or what? I had a hot start issue when I first got my jdm wrx years ago. I think I fixed it with a new coolant temp sensor and a new fuel pump.

It will turn over, but it won't actually start. Was that your issue as well?

My car is having the same problem I have a 2005 wrx with a 2.5 big valve head long

block from element tuning with hydra em Phil cant figure out whats wrong I am thinking

about taking the car to someone else I am located in MD. I need this problem fixed I

have too much money invested in my car for this problem. Phil once thought it was

the engine not seeing enough fuel so he maxed out the signal going to the injectors.

Oh oh oh. Coolant temperature sensor malfunction can cause hot start problems.

That was my issue. After replacing the issue was resolved.

I have a similar issue with my built 2.0l. Cold starts are fine. Once I shut the car off (getting gas or something) and start it back up, it'll want to die out but if I give it just a bit of gas, it's fine and idles perfectly normal.

my 94 RA engine I just bought would almost not start once up to temp. The ect/iacv/crank/cam sensors were all clean or brand new.

Then of course it spun a bearing after 80miles so I have no idea what it was..

After doing some digging into the ecu rom, I think it is our ****ty fuel enrichment/cranking fuel/temp based enrichment that does this. If I have some spare time I will try to test a rom once I have a G powered car.

I had this problem for a long time. it was the cam sensor. It takes only 1 minute to change.
