Night Shift Performance. Great guys, they didn't hesitate to swap out some parts when we ran into some issues, despite the roasting hot car and 108 ambient temps

JR tuned. This was my first experience with JR and I must say he has rightfully earned his reputation. His thoroughness exceeded my expectations. It was worth the 6 hour drive and blazing hot temperatures, with no A/C. If anyone is in need of a tune I couldn't give a higher recommendation.

Oh and a vid clip. Can't tell much after the WG opens, but the rev limit was pushed to 7,500 (stock cams).

I'm glad you finally got Jr to do some tuning for you, I knew you'd be stoked!

From what Jr told me he was impressed with your build and results!

Dayum, that thing sounds like it spools fast! Can't wait to see the graphed results. Are you heads totally stock, springs and all? I know your car's a test mule for the kits and you want to simulate most of what your customers will have, correct?

Oh yeah, I haven't seen that alternator cover yet. do you have a tracking #?

I've never heard a reroutef wastegate before. It's clear and distinct.

Wow that thing sounded like it opened early. It either spooled really fast or it sounds like it could spool faster if it opened later. Was this on an mbc? It doesn't sound like it (can hear the pulses from the solenoid).

From Jr on Facebook

"Ron GTX 35r with .82 AR hitting full boost at 4k on the dyno. 450/380whp @ 24psi, 400/340 @ 20.5psi. 108 degree dyno room. On the road, 5psi and PULLING before 3k, 15psi by 3500 and full boost by 3800rpm. Car makes power ALL the way to 7500 and the TQ is almost flat. For a turbo that can make 700whp it comes in so fast. The other cool thing is the response, its dead smooth and can easily be manipulated through some turns without that big turbo SMACK. I am usually not impressed by anything Subaru anymore, this stuff was AMAZING. On e85 this setup would KILL, I cant wait to see the GR kit that doesn't have the room restrictions."

Just for a comparison to a regular rotated gtx35, mine hits 20psi by 4500rpm.....so thats a solid 700rpm faster spool. Thats pretty damn impressive.

Haha Thanks for the kind words Chris, it was a pleasure and privilege to work with you.

Its great to see a company doing the actually testing rather then selling something that "should" work. Very impressed with the results!

Here are some road dyno plots

20psi by roughly 3800-3900rpm pretty much every pull, 22-25psi by 4200. 5psi by 3k and 10psi by 3500rpm. KIT WORKS GREAT!

I am going to bother Chris until he lets me do e85 tuning on this thing

The heads are not stock, (Ferea valve train) but they are stock cams stock sized valves. Using the car for product testing/abuse I had concerns with running ~24psi or higher on stock valve springs, plus pushing the rev limit to who knows where. Going to higher spring pressure leads to other issues with stock valves and so on, so it seemed to make sense to build up the heads for longevity. So we stuck with the stock size valves and cams to emulate the stock head setup. If someone were going to run the smaller turbo or keep boost pressure at or under ~22psi with a stock rev limit, I'd think the OEM valve train would hold up pretty well.

The car now has the WG venting to atmosphere for a couple reasons. 1) it seems 90% of the guys out there running this caliber of turbo kit are VTA, with or without a muffler 2) Recirc back into the DP would require DP redesign with a 4" Cat-back, which opens another can of worms I'm not sure we want to take on just yet.

Boost control is via a Perrin Pro EBCS. It's worked well for us.

Ron, I like to hear this comparative data. This is the information that will make this kit materialize into production.

We're going S-L-O-W. There will be a beta batch made once we get some good abuse into it with the 35R. If there are any issues we want to find and resolve them so you don't have to. No product is "perfect" but the closer we can come to this before release the better for all.

Thanks! I won't speculate a release date at this point. The track guys have been HOUNDING us for this setup as well, to the point I'm concerned I may show up at the shop one day and find the car stripped of the kit

The older posts were with the GTX3071-R with the 0.82 Housing and with the 0.63 Housing. This recent test is with the GTX3576-R with the 0.82 Housing.

Thanks Jr and thanks for posting the plot.

Howard said something similar, "when are you going to put some C16 in and turn her up?"

I'm guessing I'll need to step up to the DW300 pump and up the fuel pressure some to go in that direction.

It ended up being the crank sensor.

Thanks! Going to try and keep this around the ~$5K mark.

That will be a TOUGH price to beat for the results you get. For you guys to put this much R&D into it and not have the price through the roof is awesome. Gonna be tough not to want to sell my setup and switch over!

Maybe on the next build.
