Default Any advice for cams/pulleys/etc. on an 09 2.5i?

I've been around here a few years and I know the whole "it's not worth modding. get a WRX". That's not an option because of insurance money and the fact that I'd rather not sell my new car for an older car with more potential problems.

Anyway, I've so far done this to my scooby:
Rallisport UEL
Tsudo N1
Cosmo SRI (if I can't get a tune to fix the MAF problems, then I'll be going hybrid).

I'm thinking that the next mod on the list is cams. I was wondering if anyone has any experience camming their 08+ 2.5i? At the end of the day though, I don't want to lose reliablity, which is why I discounted the whole turbo'd idea. That, and my car is still way too low mileage to consider doing such a mod

I'm not trying to gain tons of power, but I just want more responsiveness and some more torque. I'd reasonably spend around $1000 or so.

If you can find an accessport then you will get a nice bump in hp and tq. I have one and its a night and day difference.

Well, I already have the open source tuning stuff so I'm going to either go the route of an email-tune or very carefully learn how to do it myself, starting with the drive-by-wire adjustments.

I have the Cosmo CAI and a OBX WRX catback Exhaust, I'm right now doing the email tune as we speak. So far it's coming along great. You should try it, and for N/A engines its a bit cheaper too.

No tune can fix the MAF problem so you have to drive around it, accept it or change the intake to fix it. A tune is absolutely necessary if you have removed the MAF sensor from the oem housing.

i know this guys has them:

also get the rallisport uel header and you will sound bada**

and to correct the guys above me the accessport wont do anything for our cars since they are NA, so i see your in ti state, give efi logics a call and see what they can offer you for tuning because you can tune your car to fix the MAF problem, numerous 2.5i owners have done it.

I've talked with tuners and I know specifically, PhatBotti tunning out in CA has solved the whole SRI/CAI 2.5i issue with the MAF and been able to mostly tune it out.

Yeah, they weren't really worth it when they were in production.

I have a 91 Octane tune with throttle mapping. Feels more like a drive by cable system.

No laptop? How are you setting up your logging parameters and flashing maps?

OP,
I'm running EL headers, cams & 91 octane tune on an 09 2.5i. Do a search for my posts in this forum or the 08 2.5i thread. I've answered questions on the cams before.

I have a laptop, if you don't borrow your buddies...

btw I did the tune a long time ago... and the car definitely feels better... more torquey-er, more even powerband throughout the rpms... great for autoX.... im not going to do anything else to this N/A motor...

Everything i've done was to the suspension, springs, struts and sway bars and sticky tires... I would say that I've thought about the Raptor Supercharger kit for the 08+ 2.5is but if I'm going to spend that money I'd rather spend it on a WRX/STi... like..... the 2014 22B WRX (STi) concept... look at this baby:

Doesn't look like a rally inspired Subaru IMO. Saw the pictures on subiesport as well lol.
