Default Full Carbon Fiber wrap WRX

Welp, here's the first cell phones pics i snapped. i'll be getting some decent ones shot in the near future but figured i'd share these. Did it myself in about 25 hours or so. I'm pretty happy with the result.

takes a while sitting in the sun for the adhesive to wet out and smoothen out. that and i haven't gotten a chance to wax it yet. pretty much just got it put together

I did it myself and own the business so the cost, albeit still expensive, wasn't retail. I'd expect to see cost around 3500ish if you were to just drive in to a shop and have it done. I know that's likely in the range of what i would charge.

great quality of work, i've done di-noc/vinyl wraps before on clay models but not on real cars, it's def. hard work, and it's not light, esp. not vinyl. as far as the CF...i personally would probably prefer just individual parts, like only decklid or hood etc. but not the whole car. the close up shots look great, but when i see the whole car w/ the same treatment, i dont know what to think....maybe it's different seeing it in person. good job nonetheless.

Looks horrible and for $3,500 u could get quite a few real carbon parts and not be a show douche with stock wheels and 4x4 height...

I feel bad for the poor sod that will pay you $3,500 for that. Knowing tint people, that price is just insane.. Bye

that's pretty wild! any concerns about the clear on the CF fading? had a CF front fender on my 600RR and after a season or two I had to sand it down and do another coat of clear on it to make it shiny again.

It's carbon fiber print vinyl (a big sticker) not actual carbon fiber.

lol. apparently you have no experience with vinyl, or perhaps your wax has acetone in it?

I hate to get defensive, but you my friend, are an idiot. Apparently you fail at reading. Also, I'm glad you know tint people, they seem to be passing on their vast knowledge very well.

well, currently have an opensource flash and a CBE. the big debate was to get a DP/AP, or wrap it, but i figured i could use the wrap as a write-off and advertisement, and i am not a massive tuner, so i really dont care all that much. next would be drop, wheels, dp/ap... the thing is paid for and has been for some time now, but it's also out of warranty, so i'd like to prolong its life.

about 15-20 lbs i'd guess, but i recently lost about 30 so it's a wash.

I started with the hood, roof, and trunk and i did like it, but my intention was do do the whole thing as i've not seen it done before. so I was pot committed. It pretty slick. not for everyone... apparently... but it does look pretty cool in the dark and in the sun. looks like a satin/matte black when it's dim or overcast from a distance.

considering that my car was fully vinyl wrapped in matte black for a little over a year yeah I guess you're right I have no experience with vinyl. The best way to clean any vinyl is with a chemical free shampoo such as Johnsons & Johnsons baby shampoo. Also $3600 to vinyl wrap our cars is a pretty ludicrous price. Average quotes are around $2k-$2.5k.

Then why would you tell me not to wax it? I can see not waxing matte black... but wax doesn't degrade vinyl and ruin it, it protects it just like anything else. well, according the 3M anyway.

Consider also that the CF costs 40% more than the Matte.

also, i could certainly shave off labor cost by wrapping like other shops, but instead of just wrapping visibly and trimming to edges, i took stuff apart, hood scoop, front clip, etc, and wrapped them individually. So you wont get flagging edges and crap like that.

I'm sure 3M says you can wax it just like they say you can go through automated car washes and sure you can but it will degrade the life of the vinyl this I promise you. I know of a shop here in washington that takes everything apart when they wrap and doing exceptionally good work and they still quote around $2.5k, the highest quote I saw someone get was $3k and that was for matte orange and the price increase was due to having to put a matte clear vinyl over orange in order to make matte orange vinyl

That's cool man, i don't doubt you. Just not congruent with the market in my neck of the woods. Granted it was silverado so was bigger, but the last wrap we did at my 9-5 was $5,800 and was considered a great price. This was a printed wrap on IJ680, not any specialty film.

As far as i'm aware, the biggest threat to vinyl is sun exposure.
