Default 02 wrx check engine light with no codes

I was driving home from dinner and about half way my check engine light popped on. I pulled over and plugged the accessport in and it said no codes but the check engine light remained on. It smelled hot but the temp was fine.

Please help!

Could just be a short in it or it was a quick code that fixed itself..
