Yeah hopefully I just don't care I want it running and they'll tune it while it's there it was conservatively tuned at 400 looking to get 450 without meth

Here's hoping man.....

This very much reminds me of a leak in my Jeep. Whenever I was on a steep incline I had a fluid leak that would dump on my exhaust pipe and smoke like my motor blew.....in CO this would cause dangerous driving conditions with the amount of smoke. Long story short after going to multiple mechanics and spending 1K in gasket replacements as recommended by multiple shops the problem wasn't fixed and it turns out the coolant reservoir had a crack (something I noticed by chance) and $10 later it's fine. I'm sure the gaskets would need replacing at some point, but $10 fixed the problem.

I checked mine and didn't see any anti theft on the 05 ecu like the 06 had and you said you checked pin outs on b137? B135 is what send the signal to the coils not 137. Did you check for voltage from fuse 11 on the left side of the dash. I think that's your ref. not sure if it's 5v or 12v. What about your ground from the coils. They all share the same ground on black/yellow wire. The yellow should have been the signal wire. Did you check to see if you hit any reading from the ckp? The anti theft was the only difference I could see between the two years. Why did you replace the old ecu? Have you tried going back to that one along with keys? Maybe the difference is in the oe anti theft system?

Hopefully its something simple....im a seasoned Lexus tech and have had my handful of electrical nightmares! PM me if you need any help! (of course a subie isnt a lexus, but the diagnostic process will be the same ) Did you check voltage at your ecu and harness points with ignition off and on? Some parts will have voltage constantly and some with ignition on and such. It would be wise to also get your hands on a factory repair manual so you can check to see what voltages and resistances are supposed to be....that is of course if the shop cant figure out your situation :P

Update: EFI determined that the electrical was legit and the motor is blown from whomever touched the car before me 3 dead cylinders and 60psi in the 1 so I'm picking up a new motor and dropping it in. Calling it a day. Thanks EFI.
