Default Problems Found Problems Fix Subaru Tribeca

Just wanted to post this so hopefully someone who is having this issue doesn't have the same thing happen to them. Had a noise that sounded like it was coming from the front of the engine. It was very hard to pin point it. She had just been serviced and i found the engine plastic cover not installed correctly and it was coming in contact with the belt so i thought to myself, (wow what an easy fix) wrong. My wife was driving down the highway and the rear differential light, battery light and brake light all came on. She did the right thing and pulled over and got it towed to the house thank god. The idler pulleys bearing was completely fried and the belt came off and the obvious things happened. Loss of cooling, ac, power steering and the alternator was no longer charging the battery. Going to replace the belt and idler pulley today but also have to ask the question of why the rear diff light came on and is the tension pulley going to do the same thing on me. Hope this helps someone.
