Adjust your lights they are suppose to look like this. Your drivers side looks too low and on the wall I can only see the step on one side.

The picture I posted here of the output is an old pic, I switched to the G37-R since then and had to re-aim them, also I was much further away than you are from your garage, and I used a brick wall instead of a white door so you have A LOT more reflection. And at the distance I was at I over lapped the two step ups so they overlapped perfectly. In this picture though I do believe I had to rotate the drivers side lens just a tad.

I honestly didn't think output would be that big of a deal on Nasioc lol

Those look great, nice work. Alot of people were into them in the VW scene, haven't seen as much here. How much time did you put into em?

Hmmm, prolly 12+Hours? It was my first retrofit and I had them "done" three separate times, but I hated the shrouds so I kept changing it.

They are staying like this. I am going to get a brand new pair of head lights and do a complete retrofit again but with quad projection lenses, a DRL halo and a car show Halo.

Do everything better and cleaner plus add to it lol. Then probably just put these up for sale.

Getting ready to start my 2nd Retrofit, same car.

Ordering two brand new replica headlights from RePlace.
Two pairs of Morimoto Mini H1s
1 Pair of Graphite Shrouds (High beam)
1 Pair of G37-R Shrouds (Low beam)
1 80mm White xB LED Halo (High beam inside the Graphite Shroud, it has a spot for a Halo)
1 100mm Blue xB LED Halo (Underneath the G37-R on a switch)

Low beam will be Bi-Xenon (to be able to flash even though the high beams take time to warm up)
High beam I will remove the cut off plate so they are only high beams.
White halo will be wired to the Parking lights to act as DRLs. (Independent fog light mod, and Deactivated normal DRLs.)
Blue halo will be on a switch through the battery to turn on and off for legal issues, will be used for car shows and meets.

Hidp member here too

Why dont you choose a different more pencil like projector for the high beam? The mh1 being more low beam oriented, having a second pair might not be as benefical as a differently focused projector. I am guessing size is the issue though as the mh1 are tiny and stuffing 4 of them in there is probably already pushing it. Just thinking out loud.

^^^
I thought the Mini D2S has a better high beam without modding already, so Mini H1 as planned for the biX, but swap the Mini H1 for Mini D2S with high beam only mod for the 2nd pair.

But your comment reminds me of this one thread in HIDP where the beam pattern looked oddly pencil-like. Iirc, one of the suspected causes was the bulb not seated in deep enough.

So, maybe it is possible to stay with OP's original plan, but add spacers to the base of the H1 capsule so the reflector bowl pushes less light to the sides, and more to the center ala pencil beam?

By the way, I like your HIDP thread on mapping the wall output into road output grids (the one with the 2001 WRC car picture).

I am actually thinking of doing MH1 for lows, and D2S for highs, it looks like no one has done it before, (From what little quad retros exist for my car) and it looks to be the most beneficial and practical!

I would try doing a custom foreground limiter to the high beam, so you dont end up with overflooded foreground caused by the overlap. Like making the high beam light start at a good distance from the car where it wont affect your pupils.

Satrya: thanks for the comment on the hidp thread!

What if... go with me here,

The high/low beam splitter normally puts the cut off line just for sake of argument at the middle with shadow above and light above... what if I keep that piece, but flip it upside down!? so the line is still in the middle but the shadow part is down, and all the light is up!? :O

Also, maybe aim the high beam ones out away from the center a bit to get more of the shoulder of the roads? Lots of deer in my area and they love that area...

considering deer crossing, i take back my suggestion on spacing the hid capsules back a tad to reduce the beam width; you could probably just use the upside down mode as is.

That's what I am thinking I really don't want much light right infront of the car because of my 3000k fogs, they look so sexy
