Default Will these tires fit my rims?

looking to just purchase tires they are:

P205/50/R17 Altimax

my tires that are currently on my wrx:

P235/45/17 Dunlop Sp1

all i need to do is mount right?

Rim size is 17x8 offset 53

i should keep it around +/- 10? from original oem tires?

aside for being stretched, nothing else is wrong.

I'd just put them on, very minimal difference in overall diameter

No, you should look at "Rim Width Range" here:

It says that 205/50R17 tire should be mounted on 5.5-7.5" wide wheel. +.5" will not kill them (at least instantly) but you are outside of design parameter. So if you have any tire problem manufacturer may not honor the warranty.

205/50 on an 8" wide wheel will have a very slight 'stretch', if any at all.

This is a 205/45 on an 8:



The 205/50 will have even more sidewall. It will be fine. I've seen oem wheels with more 'stretch' than that.
