Did you actually take the car for a drive? Did you get into boost at all? -25 and -5 are vacuum readings, and are what you should expect at idle.

What does the gauge read when the engine is off? It should rest at zero, if it does not it's defective.

it reads -1, if you want to be very exact maybe like -1/2.

My guess would be that your gauge is defective. When I'm cruising at around 2.5k without accelerating, my gauge still reads vacuum. You should only be seeing positive readings on your gauge if you are putting load on the engine.

oh so it should not be reading any boost unless there is a load on the engine? thanks so much, haha still a noob here. ill test it out tomorrow and run it a little harder.

My gauge reads -19/20 For vacuum at idle, At about 3200 Ish it engages and at WOT at 5.5 Ish Reads 18psi.

You mentioned it's mechanical- make sure you didn't crimp the hose coming through the firewall.

check the hose for kinks as stated.
if you run wide open throttle from 2k rpm in 2nd or 3rd you should see a reading close to your max/target boost level.

I think mine hits about 12-13psi (bone stock except for the gauge)
