First of all, what is your goal with the car? If you don' t have a goal, then you are asking the wrong questions and barking up the wrong tree. If you want the six speed, you should have ponied up the extra cash and bought the STI. If you are looking to make 600WHP, drop another $5K and get a better set of gears because at that point it is a drag car and the 6MT is not what you want.

Everyone and the opinions, i am on my third short block and having rallispec build my 6spd swap w/o DCCD (viscous center) and using my stock wrx rear diff w/WRX axles for $4000. i just want the strong 6spd to compliment my 370whp 2011WRX. Call Dave at rallispec he will take care of you my 6 spd has 12000 miles on it. By the way my WRX has 15000 miles on it. It has been a long haul just too much in it now to buy an STI

You know I thought of selling it, how ever, the bank owns the car, and at the time of the purchase, I didn't have the credit score, or the cash to pony up 8 extra grand for an sti

The first statement to this is so true for anything, "what is your goal?", find that out and everything just fall's into place. Sounds cheesy, but yet so true. haha. I mean you can't want the tranny swap and not know what your going to use the car for. If you're going to track, I say 6spd and if you're going to drag, I say 5spd with bullet proof gears. Just my .02.

Good luck with your decision.

Uncle Scotty, how is it all wrong? I can upgrade axles, DCCD etc anytime later in the build.

I just want the 6-spd for now and Rallispec knows what they are doing. I know all about the rear open diff.

I just went through this was going to get the albins gear set for my11 WRX, i was told that only a certain width gear set will work, PPG/PAR are the strongest, than albin heli cut, but is not all in the gears, the housing is really small and weak. They told me a 2011 six speed is stronger than a built 5spd.

then get your head outta your ass and stop thinking about modding the car the way you think you want to do it

you are gonna find out the hard way that maybe ya just gotta bite the bullet and NOT spend ANY extra on the car and think about the future and your credit and all THAT

and THEN think about spending thousands you dont have on the car...

I know but not my fault I did everything exactly as the tuner said the second one seems to be a faulty block, the series block casting I have happened to OP three times, we are no trying to find a different casting block. First was was cylinder #3 ringlands, I know it sounds ****ty, but that what happened. Everything was professionally done.

I'm posting hear to vouch that the stock 5 speed cant handle too much power. I say this because today first gear broke on me. I'm under 15k miles, all I've done is invidia race exhaust 3 inch catless with divorced wastegate no muffler. Invidia big tubing ELH, cobb SF intake and Perrin Inlet tube with a stage 2+ sf tune. Cant be much more than 300WHP if that.
