I would take it to the dealer for every single issue. That's what warranties are for.

Believe me, I do. I could unload the whole saga, but I won't. They know about every issue, they just couldn't 'replicate' some of them.

I'm jumping in this thread too--I've been noticing that it occasionally feels like the shifts "pops out" when shifting from 1st to 2nd unless I shift pretty slowly, and slight rubbing on occasion from shifting 2nd to 3rd.

If someone gets this fixed, can you post up the work order after it's done? black out the personal info of course.

My 2011 WRX does this in 2nd gear when it gets into freezing temperatures as well.

My 2013 has been 'clipping' or 'crunchy' in second and third gear for the last few weeks. It's not consistent, and I don't notice it when shifting in high RPMs. It shifts buttery smooth when cold, but once it warms up, and I've been driving for a while, it gets crunchy. Quite the opposite of anything and everything I've read. This is my first manual car, maybe I'm doing something wrong? Also, I have the STi short throw shifter. I'm not sure if that's a factor at all.

Regardless, I will be taking it to the dealership soon. Hopefully they can replicate it, because it's driving me crazy!

Mine is "two finger shift" smooth in all gears but reverse (including 1-2nd and 3rd-4), at all temperatures (except on occasion the first shift after turning on the car on a freezing day). Stock 5-spd other than the STI short shifter that was port installed. If this isn't you, accept no substitutes -- take it in.

Okay, good to know! Thank you for your input!

I love that line, especially when it's a drivability related issue that manifests itself as a common occurance. Especially when they waste a 1/4 tank of gas having their tech's dick around in your car.

Did I mention my deep distrust of car dealerships?

Mine does it too and it does it if you shift slow or fast so just assuming that is very blind.
