Default Can't flash MAP

Ok, so I connect the test connectors and white test connector since I have an '04. I plug in the AP and let it load. The key is in the off position. I go to reflash and it then tells me to put it in test mode by switching to the on position. The radiator fans cycle and the CEL flashes as normal.

Now, when I go to actually select the new MAP (going from 93 to 91 oct Stage 2), it first said low battery voltage. I have the door closed, all headlights off, everything unplugged, etc.

The second time I tried, it just said failed. Is it normal for the CEL to blink, then go blank for 2-3 seconds, then start blinking again? It's random. It appears everywhere I read it's supposed to stay blinking in a normal sequence. The radiator fans go on and off sporadically too.

Figured it out!

For anyone else having the same problem in the future:

You have to hit 'ok' directly after turning the key to 'on' and hit reflash. You'll know you do it right because the fans will stop cycling and the CEL will completely go out. It will then save your stock ECU data and load the MAP you request.

The key is doing it quick enough.
