Another simple cheat: Fill up car, turn off code, keep car filled up above 3/4 tank on the highway. Code will never come on, trust me. It won't run the 'test' for it.

You can drive city all day long down to E.

Only problem with that is, if you turn off the code and it's actually something else, you'll never know.

I've had this code pop up now and again. I looked at the filler hose, looks brand new, replaced the gas cap still nothing. Through searching this and other Subaru forums I just found out about the blue T fitting. I called my local stealership and its a $35-37 part. Gonna try that this weekend.

Ok thanks for the reply folks!
Update: Had a new program downloaded to the ECU and the code came back. I have brought it back to the dealership again, and they fixed a wire leading to the vent valve near the canister. Not sure if they replaced the harness, or just fixed a wire. They say the wire was broken causing the valve to stay open. I will drive the car today on the highway to see if it will come back.
The good news, is that the dealership has not asked me to pay a single penny after they replaced the fuel filler neck. They have spent hours on my car trying to diagnose it, and have not had me pay additional. I'll update once I drive it on the highway today. I guess this is the one case the dealership has stood behind their work!

My car has a heavy smell of fuel everywhere I go because of this damaged part, can anyone please help me ?

Ugh. I'm about to start diagnosing this on my car. Replaced the PS pump, it came on. Thinking I touched one of the brittle lines behind it or a brittle connector is loose.

Any easier way to get to those hoses without removing the PS pump? Maybe an intake hose?
