Smile My solution to heat shield rattle

Hey guys just thought I would post this fix for you guys since it worked well for me. The rattle sound I was getting was only noticeable when taking off, when starting the car and when the clutch pedal was being pushed in. I popped the hood and banged my palm against the uppipe heatshield and noticed a lot of play. I wrapped a hose clamp around the top of it and tightened it down. voila! no more rattle. Here is a picture of the heatshield that was my problem.

So if you have a similar rattle, pop the hood and play with that heatshield to see if there's some rattle noise coming from there. Hope this helps!

Or.... just take it to an exhaust shop and weld it back into place. The top weld commonly breaks on these. Not hard to fix, takes 5 minutes.

You take the up-pipe off and take it to be welded then put it back on. At least that's what do.

Seems like a lot of extra work then to just slip a hose clamp around it lol.
