Am thinking about it, yeah. Got 3 cars (toys), a family with a kid and all the other life stuff. But in no rush to sell though, spent about $80,000 on the goQuality STI to date, + there is so much of my blood sweat and foul language in that car...so hard to part with it... I'd rather sell the Twin Turbo 1000hp TTVETT Corvette

No no, keeping the gunmetal '11 STI BBS's. I'd rather sell the Volk Rays 57F Time Attacks than those BBSs!

Indeed, this is at his (AKWRX) place and he still has the first production alcohol injected WRX in the world. Turned 100,000 miles, still running like new. We were putting new unequal length headers on it this past weekend.

Plenty of interest. Curious to see it run and perform. Hear the list of mods since my old photo. How is he doing?

80/20% mix with 80% heet (yellow bottles) 20% water. The gt52 is only a hybrid gt30 turbo. 35psi isn't that scary lol. Alcohol raises the efficiency of any turbo

ah ha, thats makes more sense, a element stock location gt52. i run 5050 methanol water on Garret gt30 and it make around 470-480 at 24psi. i was just curious about what you were running as 'alcohol'. i plan on making a 30psi race map next summer and hoping for 550-600hp with really aggressive timing and im gonna need racegas im afraid but you guys are doing it big it looks like with poor gas quality.

I asked AKWRX to jump in and talk about his car a bit. He found his old username and password today so will be in shortly.

Default Update

The '02 WRX was fully modded by 1500 miles. The goal was max performance and retain stock drive ability, reliability, fuel mileage, and longivity. Longivity was the question mark. With over 100K miles that has now been proven. Most of the miles are at a max boost of 22.5 psi on a VF30, although it was run for a while at 26 psi. Minor upgrades have done over the years including going to a speed density tune, better flowing headers, light AVO flywheel and ACT street clutch (the stock clutch still looked good at 80K miles), and the last generation of the SMC alky kit. The only failures were a leaking upper radiator tank, starter, and one rear axle bearing. Good maintenance and no abuse pays off.

The Skunkerks pro hobby shop tunes about a dozen high boost alky injected cars. Juneau pump gas is pisswater. The variety of cars include supercharged, single and twin turbos in Chevys, Subaru WRX and STI, Nissan, and Mitsubishi (Dodge Stealth). Three of the cars use the Alky Control units. The Skunkwerks is as much a social club as hammer mechanic shop.

?? Didn't read all the way through your build thread, but curious to know. Stock TMIC? Doesn't that restrict the big turbo?

Preaching to the choir here!

I just turned 130K. Car is as strong as ever.

There is a difference between hard use and abuse.

Really appreciate you guys posting up Skunkwerks.

Do you guys use block or battery heaters in juneau, or does it not get cold enough to bother? I can pick this stuff up cheap before I go if needed.
