Default parking and brake lights won't turn off

This has been happening on and off for the last 3 months. It went almost a month and now i'm back at the same problem. I removed my t timer that didn't do anything, i made sure the switch was off on the column. Today It happened and i just opened the door and closed it and they turned off. I got back in it to drive home from work 5 hours later and they're back on when I turn the car off at the house.

Help Please!

Are you sure the brake lights are turning on also? I have my doubts about that since they are on a separate circuit from the parking lights. If the brake lights are turning on then the middle one should be on also. If the trouble really is with just the parking lights then I would have to suspect the trouble is with the switch on top of the column. Some folks have had trouble with it and had to replace it.

yeah I'm looking at the car right now the brake and parking lights are on. however when i turn the switch on they just a tad bit brighter, when i turn the switch off there still on. Any idea or links to help with replacing the circuit and or switch on the column?

Well that seems odd that both the brake and parking lights are on. If you have a wire harness for a trailer I would check that for a problem. Another thing you might try is cycling the emergency flasher switch a few times.
