i need help with fitting em...

ey whats up everybody.. my wife just bought me 4 new work xd-9's 18x10 +18. happiest guy on earth. ive been wanting them for a year now and finally my wife bought me the rims. the only problem is i dont know how am i gonna fit them on my 09 bone stock sti hatch.. do i need to roll the fenders or put in coil overs or what?? i also don't know what kind of tires will fit on them. so if you pros can help me out it would be highly appreciated.....

Hate to break it to you bud but the +18 offset means you are going to need a lot of work to get them to fit. You will need Coilovers, Camber Bolts, and Lower Adjustable Control Arms for sure. You will need a Roll and A LOT of pull on all 4 corners. You can probably run a 265/35R18 or a 275/35R18 on those, but here is the problem. +18 is pretty far off from the stock offset so you will lose some steering responsiveness due to the vehicle center line being changed so far away from the stock offset. This is known as numbed turn in. You also may have some problems with scrub radius. The control arms should help with this but it may still be noticeable. The XD-9 18x10 +38 would have been a much better fit and much less work but you will have lots of work ahead of you to get the +18's to fit.

In short its going to cost you money to get them to fit. If you are ok with that then go for it.

Those are 235/40's!

What you WILL need:

Coilovers
adjustable rear lower control arms
a roll
slight pull in the rear
stretched tires
lots of camber
to be OK with rubbing a ****load. period.

The problem with going for the 18x10 +38 is the inboard clearance….there aint enough room to run a properly sized tire.

Not sure how much the 2011 flared fenders helped.

LP87's car here in Nasioc. I believe IAG did the fitment work.

yeah and with the paint quality of the 08+ I hope you know an awesome place that can pull them without cracking the paint or know a shop that includes a refinish in the pull job.

"Fit" yeah you can get them to fit just plan on spending cash to get them there. A budget coilover set is going to run you 1000 and 250 for an install, rear control arms 300-500 for rear control arms and probably 100 for install. Roll and Pull is probably gonna run you 50 per corner. Tires on the low end are probably gonna run you 600. Then mount, balance and alignment is going to be around 325.

So figure around 3K to get them to fit if you don't do any of the work.

Dude they are 18x10's they are going to have to be cambered that way just to fit. Otherwise they aren't going on the car.

I'm running 18x9.5" +38's with a 245/40R18. Coilovers and a rear roll. Now look at the picture below. a +18 is going to stick out an additional +20mm past where my wheels sit. That is almost another inch. You are going to be flush.

oh dang.. as long as it looks like that red sti up top im good. i just dont want that exaggerated camber. i do appriciate your help fellows. im just gonna save up and once i got back from deployment ill start my project...

you do realize the top car is running 3-4* of camber to get them to fit like that?

they poke out of even GR fenders.

but like we've said.....you can definitely do it, but its going to take time and money to get there.

you are going to rub like crazy....so thats another thing to factor. if you (and your family) can deal with that.

Same thing... Roll, slight pull, enough camber control and the right sized tires.

Honestly if you are this new to wheel fitments you really don't need more than a 9" wheel.

18x9 +40 xd9s will fit very easily and allow for a larger tire.

Can she return them? If not, you could probably sell them on some forum for cars that use that low of an offset. You will take a loss that way, though.
