I'm about to hit 10 k in kilometers though. Everything has been good thus far with the exception of some warranty work being done.

Just hit 10k recently on my 5 door, now at 10633 miles in approximately 6 months of ownership. Average MPG over those miles works out to 27.41 MPG, with a short commute to work (16 miles round trip every weekday), but plenty of highway miles in the off hours to do all those miles. Overall, a bit lower than expected, but finding out that the short commute hurts, the car barely gets warmed up before I park it, and certainly the highway miles at 65+ aren't as efficient as they are at 50-55 MPH. I just don't seem to do many miles at that sweet spot to hit the higher MPG's as rated on the sticker for highway mileage with the CVT.

No issues with the car so far (knock on wood), just a couple paint chips and a small curb rash on one rim that you really can't see easily (certainly not Subaru's fault). Oil levels have been fairly constant, ranging from 3/8" above the 'full hole' on the dipstick to dead on full. Did the first change at just over 7500 miles.

All in all, I'm still very happy with my car. Lots of fun to drive it, and no real complaints about the performance of it. Hopefully that continues for many miles to come.

I'm at about 9900 miles, but I couldn't wait another day and half to post. Everything is great. Oil is great. Gas is great. Could use some stronger paint up front, but what are you going to do.

I'm at about 28K miles and almost 11 months of ownership and nothing serious to report. Mine has starded to creak along the base of the windshield in temperatures ranging from 38 to 49 degrees(super annoying but the dealer is working with me to hopefully alleviate it). I agree that the paint could be stronger up front as I have a few chips on the leading edge of the hood. I stopped manually calculating the fuel economy but according to the computer I get about 35-39 going to work and about 31-37 coming home depending on traffic. I do burn off some oil but it comes out to be about .25 quarts per 4K miles so I am not horribly concerned.

12,000+ and the only scratch was from my watch (Doh!). Other than a bluetooth issue and some "creaking", no issue. Hope it lasts me 8 years.....

Bought in February. Just crossed 10k miles.
There are some rare rattles up front, tweeter cover or a-pillar? There is a creak in the rear, maybe struts? MPG is lower than expected.
No paint chips fortunately. Dealer and service has been great.
Got the aero roof rails and use them for a roof box and a bike holder. Planning on getting a trailer hitch for added utility like a lighte trailer for dirt bikes, lawn equipment, etc.
It's just about perfect for a small family. Wife and two kids have plenty of space. The mpgs stomp my wifes CRV. It's super easy to park in town. It even looks nice.
I'm loving this car even with the minor quibbles.

Are you worried at all about the trailer hitch voiding the warranty? It's been a concern of mine.

a year old next week and about to pass 26K...yes a 103 mile commute every day...no complains...serviced on time per OEM recommendations, no problems to report....a creak or two but nothing Im concerned about....yes road rash and some paint chips on the hood.....am noticing some inside wear on the tires..but that is probably an alignment issue I'll have checked next time in for service...MPG 32ish overall, so happy with that as well......all in all very satisfied with the car.....5Dr Limited here

I'm becoming more and more impressed with this little Subie. Face it, the 2012 model was brand new. Pretty much everything is new and/or updated. First year models tend to have troubles. So far this one has been pretty solid. There was one early recall a year ago, and now one for a software update. Some squeaky seats or speaker grill problems reported. But other than that, there really hasn't been large scale complaints and Subaru has sold something like 60 thousand of these.
