what were your search parameters?

searching "06 retrofit projector"
yields a number of threads.
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2333721
that one is a FS on a quad projector setup

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...ofit+projector
another older FS thread

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...ofit+projector

There are a bunch of retrofit threads that may have info in them.
Not that hard to find, if you put forth the effort.

Almost any projector will fit, the question is how much work do you feel like doing and how much of the housing you are comfortable cutting away.

I didnt know the lenses were interchangeable. I thought the lenses were just a clear version of the oem ones that come on the projector

Incorrect. There are many different 2.5" lenses because each projector design uses a different focal length. Think of it like eye glasses. You can have the same frame shape/size, but different lenses to suit different eyes.

Yep, this. Not every 2.5 will fit. I personally have the TSX lenses on mine and they're great. Swap your lenses, OP. Trust me you will love it.

I was thinking about changing lenses but if I have the light opened up and the money for new projectors then why not. Any recommendations on good bixenon projectors? Best bang for the buck, sharpest cutoff etc.

Your WRX already has somewhat decent projectors that will have a much improved performance if you do a lens swap. Like I said, I put the TSX clear lens swap on my lights and it made a huge difference, cutoff is perfect and has the "rainbow" line at the top, which I love. Not sure why you are looking for bixenon projectors though as our cars have a separate projector for the low beam and a jewel style high beam.

Well I was going to do bixenon mainly because I think it would be sweet but ill start off with lenses and if those don't end up being enough then ill follow through with a complete retrofit.

Just swapping the lenses on halogen projectors won't do too much to improve your light output. Go for the bixenon projector swap with HIDs and aim them well.

You "can" fit 3" projectors into the housing, but I had to extensive trimming of the backing plate and enlarging the shroud. The beam pattern was wider and more even than the other projectors I have used.

TSX/FX projectors are almost a direct bolt in.

The highbeams on the 06/07 are a bit too spot beam pattern in my opinion, the bixenons really complements that.

I am now running the FX projector but wish that I had done the clear lens mod for the better cut-off.

Hmm I guess ill save for the bixenons, school and a season pass just took all my money. I want some really good lights. can you run wires to the jewell style high beam and the solenoid for the projector to have 2 high beams?

Do you mean having four projectors that all four bulbs will be on and switching to high beams all the solenoids will switch? If so then yes this can be done with splitters.

Or do you mean just to have the low beam bi-xenon projectors switch to high beams as well as the stock high beams coming on as well?

Either way both can be done, you would just have splitters hooked to the solenoids, to the high beam bulbs then back to the power for them. An extra splitter would be needed for a quad setup

I spliced into the high beam wiring to trigger the shutter on my bi-xenon so I do end up with quad high beams (2x projector 2x reflector).

You can just see the stock highbeam in the centre.

If I had the money for it id do a quad retrofit. But this^ is exactly what I was wondering about. Is it worth it? Can you even tell that the stock high beams are on?
