Default blew out tire, suggestions

Tires have 16,000miles on them. Had 1 of them blow out on the highway today. So I'm stuck on either getting 4 new ones, or just replacing the one that failed. I do have the gold plus warranty, so I should be able to get a pro-rated amount, but I'm not sure what's going to happen. 75% of those 16,000 are highway miles. Suggestions?

AWD = 4 new tires when 1 fails if they would end up being different sizes due to wear.

Yes I am aware that all 4 need to be replaced, but the tires are basically new. I was just on the phone with subaru and they said anything within 2/32" is acceptable. The part that blows is it happened on me going home from work to start my vacation. So now my plans have to be changed. Sigh.

you can order 1 tire and have it shaved down to match the others.

Like sc00by said, just get the tire shaved to matching tread depth. That will solve the problem as long as it is the same tire.

That's awesome thinking. I'll have to call some places to see where I can get that done.
