Angry Dilbert is alive and well at my office - offensive email signtaure banned!

So check this out...

Today, I got called into my managers office, and told that I had to stop using the QUOTE that I attach to my email messages. You know, right after your name, phone number, etc.? Apparently, I had offended the number two in charge manager somewhere in the agency. Yes, my little quote OFFENDED a grown man. As a result, my WHOLE company has just been forbidden from using quotes on emails, as evidenced by my manager's recent message to us:

Quote:
Sorry all, but in the name of professionalism, let's eliminate the use of quotes on our email signatures for mail within the agency. We received a complaint about a signature quote today so to avoid upsetting any more of our customers I feel it appropriate to discontinue the use of signature quotes.

Feel free to add whatever you like to mail that will go to, and stay within our own group but if there's any possibility the mail could be forwarded outside of the group please refrain.
My manager and I both rolled our eyes, because we cannot believe it. My manager is a cool guy, so I don't blame him, that's for sure.

Oh, my quote that started all of this?

Quote:
"If everything seems under control, you're just not going fast enough." - Mario Andretti
Sorry if I offend anyone!

Did I mention that we are using a new cover letter on the TPS reports? Know what, I'll just forward that to you.

I had one of our office ladies get offended because I referred to my fiancee as a "car girl".

She said it was disrespectful to her as a woman. PLEASE!!! That is how she introduced herself, "I am a car girl."

There is a rash of people in this country who like to get offended or act offended just to get attention and feel important. There are even a few on this board.

Hey, just out of curiosity, how is your company doing - financially? If it is not doing the greatest, and this guy is 2nd in charge, you should be "OFFENDED" by the poor shape of the company, and maybe he should be spending less time lookin at some silly quoute (and golfing) and more time MANAGING the company. .... on second thought, THAT would be too difficult, and its way easier to just fill their time with stooopid crap like that, than actual WORK.

Concerning that lady that didn't like "car girl"... you SURE she's not slightly deaf (sounds like what an old, crushy bat would say), and THOUGHT she heard CALL GIRL? Either way, if she's not your boss or anythign like that, I would defintly give her a few choice words about the situation.
I just sooo wanna smack these people.

Having that printed on an email isn't offensive.

Having "In God We Trust" printed on our currency... now THAT'S offensive.
