I might actually think about doing the mk2 flares on my 05 sti. looks just like a smaller version of the karltons to fit 9.5 inch wheels rather than the bigger 10.5 and up with karlton flares. Very tempting...

You can fit a lot of 9.5" wheels without flares.

I know but not much with a 0- +15 offset . Plus I'm gonna be running a meaty tire probably a 255/40

And I don't want to camber too much.

You won't fit low offsets with these flares either.

If you run a responsible offset you can fit meaty tires on a 9.5" wheel on a GD easily. Without retarded camber.

If you want kiddie boi offsets, that's a different story.

I know this hasn't been posted in for a while but thought I'd throw my stab in here.

I took a bit of a different approach... I didn't want to see any of the crease on the wheel arch. It took quite a bit more work than what I'm seeing others have done but I think I'm happy with it.

What about wagons. And would this look normal with stock rims?

No, it will not look normal at all.

I have the oem vw flares and they are pretty wide.

What about wagons? There are at least three that I can think of in this thread including the first (ahem ahem).

Your headlights look good.

I liked the flares better black...

They extend about an inch and a half from the fender. They would look terrible with stock wheels.

I believe i will be ordering a set and getting these on my wagon this spring.
For anyone wondering about aptuning's stock, they are currently out but should have a shipment in by the end of next month.

did anyone ever figure out what the difference between the thick vs no-molding design was?

Guessing maybe a notch or tab for the molding? I plan to call tomorrow and ask. for $50 I'm almost tempted to order anyway.

Anyone try them? no molding still/again out of stock.

I called APT today.

their description of the "with molding" parts was that the portion of the molding is molded into the flare that goes onto the fender and door. Sounds like it might be able to be trimmed off. but not sure.

Also, they said w/o molding stock order is in route crossing the "big pond" now. and you can pre-order and they will be filled when the next round arrives.

I just placed my non-molding order today.

hope that helps.
