Negative, Grimmspeed EBCS absolutely HAS to be tuned for, and the injen short ram would be safer with a tune as well.

Torqued performance can email you a specialized tune specific to your mods for relatively cheap that you can simply load to your accessport

so not worth it to get the accessport if im going to tune it once and not mess with it much after that? i know accessport has alot of cool features but if i have to pay extra for a special tune then i dont think it'll be worth it...thoughts?

The AP is definitely worth it, especially if you can find one used. It is by far the most simple way of tuning and monitoring these cars

I hope you're not running the turboback without a tune!! And the accessport is well worth it! Can help you solve a lot of problems with the car at the same time flashing maps.

Try not to see boost anymore til you get a tune bud. Save you a very big headache.

will do! thanks guys. this process has been such a headache... mostly my fault because i was determined to make a v5 jdm manifold work so i dont have to worry about my tgv delete (when i did the tgv delete i has a vacuum leak so decided to do the manifold) and realised it takes alot of work to make it work. so giving up and puting the stock tgv back in and pulling off the plates to maybe help a little bit but not throw a code and slap on the tune...i guess i shouldnt try to take short cuts anymore...

At least your learning! Take things with these cars slow and make sure you understanding what you are doing and what it needs to be accommodated by. One step at a time with good decisions will yield greater outcomes. If you haven't yet go read Unabombers Manifesto, just search for it. Tons of good information. I'd link it for you but I'm on my phone! Good luck!

WRB squared!

Default tune

You should unplug the boost controller so the car can only run waste gate boost. With that exhaust you should still see boost creep in the higher rpm range but if you stay out of that range you should be ok. only running waste gate boost would be the "safest" way to drive the car without a tune.

As long as you can resist "getting on it" you'll be okay. The thing with accessport is yes, it allows you to monitor and reflash maps, but it's also expensive. If you wanted to tune your car once and leave it you'd be just as well off getting a pro-tune/dyno-tune. Thing with a pro-tune is it is tailored for your car and your car parts as is (meaning you can't change up the parts without having to worry about the tune). It's also semi-expensive at $350.00+, but it's also one of the best investments you'll make.
