Good meaty all season tires
So I'm looking to get some decent all season tires, nothing crazy expensive. I will be making a few trips to Tahoe this winter but no blizzard driving since it doesn't get too bad for day trips. I will not be tracking my car, just daily driving for the most part. I will be getting 275/35 tires and wrapping them on some RPF1s 18x9.5 +38 so it will be rather meaty. I don't know much about tires so id like some input from personal experiences and what you can recommend. Thank you for the help!

why in gods name would you want a 275 "all season".
buy a summer tire, and use your stocks for winters. |

I dunno if they make them in the size you specified, but I've been extremely happy with my General Altimax HPs. I've got a pair of them in 205/55/16 on '02 WRX factory wheels. They're pretty decent in the summer - grippy enough to have fun with, and long life. (55,000mi warranty) They're H rated, and well made all around. They're also pretty respectable in the winter and wet, I've found. Good enough for me to not worry too much about getting some winter tires, since I'm a nearly broke college student. (although I could probably use them, being in SW Michigan - lake effect, yo) Probably my favorite value in all seasons. They ran me about $100 a corner, dunno about as wide as you want.

FYI: When it comes to driving on snow, wider tires are worse.

What he said^^. I read in either Car&Driver or Road&Track that you want narrower tires for winter.
I have ContiExtremes in OE size and they've done great in wet/dry conditions.. though I'm waiting to see how they will hold up this winter. |

Maybe if the OP had filled out his profile we would know whether he can run summer tires year round...

Not sure if you have visited Tahoe during winter but from my experience I can say Tahoe/surrounding mountain passes get inundated with snow. Expect snowy conditions that get deeper with altitude. Especially if you will be visiting any ski resort areas...
