I was just wondering where I can get a sheet of the headlight impact saver stuff. I would like to be able to cut some for my Morette's to keep em from shattering. Any local stores carry em that anyone knows of, or do I have to order em?
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Try Xpel , they sell bulk material along w/ headlight protection kit. However, I don't think they have one for morette so you'll have to buy the bulk material and cut to size.

Go to xpel.com, buy one 12" square sheet. Cut out four circles sized 4" each and apply them to the lenses. Just follow the instructions carefully and be sure the lenses are perfectly clean and warm when you do the installation.

Are there any local chains that carry their products? I really can't wait for shipping...

Geez, can't wait a few days?
I've never seen it for sale in a store. If you go to xpel.com you can search for a local installer using your zip code so maybe you can find a place that way. I definitely wouldn't pay to have it installed on the headlights though, doing it yourself is too easy to pay extra for someone else to do it. |

I ordered it from Xpel and it got here in two days. They ship fast. like mulder said... Be careful when you cut the film and adhere it to the glass. I made a 4" [exact] cardboard template with a compass and went to work SLOWLY with a nice sharp x-acto. Good Luck
![]() when you adhere it to the lens...work very very slowly..pulling back the film to fix imperfections WILL cause miniscule bubbles to form. USE that plastic piece that comes with the sheet to smooth everything out.... |

Yeah, I ordered a sheet of it a few hours ago. Hopefully it will get here Tuesday...
The lenses are MINT, never seen the road, never been on a car. Should I heat em up a little with a hair dryer to make the plastic stick better? Any more advice about application would be great... |

Well I basically just traced, cut, aligned, and [slowly] adhered the film to the glass. 3M's Directions, and other people who installed such film on the i-club might tell you to "heat up" the glass and film to ensure good mating of the two surfaces. Personally I think its truly all B.S. that just takes up time. I put 3M/Xpel protection film on BOTH my Morettes and my stock fogs WITHOUT heating anything up...and it was rather humid that day to boot!
![]() I've had it on for weeks, and no sign of bubbles, imperfections, etc... Actually you can't even identify the film is present until you are practically up against the front bumper ![]() the film saved my butt a couple of weeks ago...I would've had a badly cracked/shattered lens. The film barely shows any sign of impact ![]() |

The heat can't hurt, but if you do the application either outside on a warm day or inside it's probably ok. The adhesive may not activate properly if it's not warm enough.
Make sure the lenses are absolutely, spotlessly clean before applying this stuff. Clean them with alcohol and dry them completely. I did mine off the car, it's easier. If they're on the car and you don't want to take them off at least remove the outer covers so you have better access to the lenses. Other than that just follow the instructions that come with it. |

The lenses are immaculate, but I will still hit em up with some rubbing alchahol. They are off the car too, I want to get the Xpel on em and get em painted before I actually put em on....

exactly what mulder said..and also: remember NOT to dry off the lens with fibrous material like toilet/tissue paper, bounty, old towel. You won't notice the fibers that remain until your done putting on the film
