Hey guys I'm looking for some advice. I came across a black 1999 2.5rs manual trans with 103,000 miles. I don't have any history on the car. What I do know is it has check engine light on, knock sensor circuit. Abs light on didn't have time to check out the code for that. Typical rear quarter rust, front fenders both have damage, other than that exterior has typical dents and dings. Interior is decent nothing major, just needs a good cleaning. Motor sounds good, no knock or excessive noise, no leaks, its actually really quite and nothing aftermarket on the car anywhere. Looks like someone has had front timing belt covers off recently. Trans feels good, clutch feels okay. Suspension and brakes both feel used, but in decent shape. Tires are decent all season tires with some generic rims but in good shape. It does need some exhaust work. With that novel being written what sort of money would be safe to pay for this? I do expect to get beat up about this post but that's the info I've got and wont be able to gather much more.

Not knowing the asking price, I would offer 2,500-3k for that car. That might sound low, but rust is expensive to fix and it appears to need some maintenance attention. Low miles is nice. Post some pics or the FS add to further help.

I'd offer 2k and not go any higher than 2500. Rot and body damage is the killer because that's where a lot of the car's value is.

The CEL stuff is easy to fix, so is the ABS stuff.

I'd say these guys are pretty spot on. I'd say it worth 2 as a sedan 25 if it's a coupe...in any case I'd be thinking fender flares!

Thanks for all the input. It is greatly appreciated. It coincides with my thoughts. It is a coupe as well forgot to mention in original post.

Fiancee and I will be at Bittersweet on Friday for some skiing/snowboarding fun. Depending on how much we get beat up out there (I haven't been on my board in two years) we might be down to meet up with some of the group for a little bit.

...maybe...gotta see where I'm at by the weekend. I'm going to need some pain killers if we go out. lol

Also, anyone know where I can get a o2 bung welded onto the top of my DP (stainless) locally? Wanting to relocate as I've been told it smooths out the idle and I'm already using the downstream location for an AFR.

I think we should try for Friday at Bittersweet at 5:30pm.

If anyone needs to borrow a complete snowboard setup, I can lend it to them for the night. Only requirements are that you should be able to fit in a size 10 - 12 boot.

Not sure on the O2 bung, maybe Force?

Are you planning on swapping the locations? I would think the wideband AFR would be much better on top and the O2 downstream.

The fiancee and I are planning on going during the day since I don't have Friday classes. If it ends up just being a meet up and we're still around, we'd definitely stop by.

Gotcha, maybe we could join at 5:30pm and stay for a couple of hours and then head to that italian place (Fricanos).

Looks like it should be warm enough...at the moment Bittersweet is closed...

Not sure I'm going to be able to make it out there Friday but one of these weekends soon I need to.

Had a buddy put his o2 on top of the DP, as suggested by tuner, and it smoothed out the idle on his LGT. Figured I'd see if I had similar results. I can always swap them around an try it both ways. Gotta save and convert to top few here soon as well...

So lets meet at Bittersweet at 5:30pm (earlier if needed), then we will go to Fricanos whenever, maybe 7:30pm?

Might be a small one but I've been wanting to have a meet at the slopes forever!
