Default First Datalog Help

Hello, this is my first datalog and I have no idea what should be going on. I've been paying attention to my boost and it seems like I may be underboosting? Not sure. Hopefully someone can help me. It's a pretty long log (sorry), I did it while driving to work and put in a couple of mini pulls.

2004 Subaru WRX
Stage 1 ACN
COBB SF intake
Grimmspeed uppipe
3" SRS catback
109,900 miles

Any help appreciated! Thanks!

Hi there - the log is too long to go through on google docs. You are also missing some key parameters in the log (such as throttle). I would reset the log list to the default (Reset Log List under Monitors menu) and then try to get a 3rd gear WOT run as described in the video below (if you can do so safely). Rather than one long log, just get the log shortly before and after the run.

Before you do your run, make sure you are on the latest v310 map. You can verify this by going to Tune -> Show Current Map and make sure the v310 map is in the reflash and realtime slots. The v310 map is more consistent than the previous maps.

Got to log the 3rd gear pull to redline and here's the results. It seems that my boost goes negative at random times?

Negative boost values just means you are in vacuum.

Log looks good except that your throttle position is not showing 100% during the run. That means either you were not completely on the throttle or there's some other issue such as the floor mat sneaking under the pedal, an issue with the throttle wire/plate, or a problem with the throttle position sensor.

Shouldnt I not be in vacuum while producing boost? And the target boost is 14 PSI. would the HWG map help? Or is it not necessary?

And most likely it was the floor mat. Thanks!

The term "boost" is typicallly used to refer to any positive relative pressure, whereas "vacuum" is when you have negative relative pressure.

I would get a new log where throttle is actually 100% (if you can do so safely), before considering switching to the HWG map. Lower throttle position is going to mean potentially lower boost, so you just want to see what it looks like at 100% throttle across the board.
