Same complaint at my dealership, they get no say in what is allocated. Also, my pre-order for a Forester XT took one of their early allocations, so instead of 10 cars on the lot, the now have 9. They don't have the power most buyers think they have.

So i test drove the red one.
sportplus mode was easy to change to, the car was really smooth on normal, kind of boring and laggy. Sport plus had a lot of oomph. I enjoyed it. It was pretty comfy ride, and quiet. Rev pretty quick and some turns it was pretty nice. The rear view camera is pretty damn small tho. I had to take the car out of a tight spot did a 3 point turn in and out of a parking spot lol..
I did visit the dealer pretty late around 730 after work.

I think the inside is illuminated nicely with the red interior glow. We were both wonder why the glove box had no light. You can't see anything in the dark lol. Moonroof was huge we close the shade to give the inside more ambient. It was slightly raining so the windows got foggy fast, but deforster were quick I hit auto and it cleared the windows quick.

Visibility is amazing in this car, I felt pretty high i'm about 5'9. I didn't like the seat doesn't angle up or down for me unless it wasn't electronic and I didn't find it. In my 05 tsx I had 8 way seat adjust.

I was happy wish I got to drive it more than 10 minutes, and some highway passing it. I did a few stop and go at the light of a major road. CVT is kind of lame thing, but I went from an auto 05 tsx drove 216,000 miles. In traffic and all kinds of crappy situations. I don't think I will complain much. The car was enjoyable. Seatbelt hump in the back is distracting.

Side mirrors have auto dimming, never had that in the tsx, got to love the night road test a bit different than doing it in the day.

The white forester xt was nice, I have to say black interior is nice with a lot of the color combos.

Audio system was pretty nice, my friend has a 13 wrx premium wish it had more bass in his car, the forester was pretty nice and pumping.

I never used an eq before wished I played with it more lol I was confused.
Navi was good in day, and night little hard to navigate the radio, which everyone has said, but oh wells I won't need it much.

Sunroof is nice and larger, I def need to tint it, almost too much light comes
in.

Hope this helps i'm price shopping now.

Thanks for sharing. Btw your picture links don't work for me.

The grey doesnt stand out thought it be darker, like a carbon grey or slate gray. I could be fooled. The jasmine green? is kind of boring to me but easy to look at. My friend's friend bought it.

They said they wanted the turbo, but wanted more mpg

I'm in for the real MPG figures, i have a feeling the 2.5 NA with the CVT is going to be more efficient than my 2.0, won't have to work as hard to get up to speed.

The 2014 is on my short list to replace our 04 Forester X. Has to beat CX-5 2.5, C-Max, Escape 1.6, and Jetta TDi wagon... maybe 14 Santa Fe, my wife likes the looks.

Same complaint from my local dealer. If you want everything/anything different, then you need to special order the car or add on the missing pieces at the local dealership, which just costs more than if they are added at the "Port". No labor cost for accessories added at the"Port" and most times you can get the accessories at Invoice. Bad part is you have to wait for the car.

At least 2 already. One bought another make. One drove three hours to a dealer that had one. Those are just the ones we know.

I'm sure you will sell out the ones you get in quickly. Just as those guys just got their cars, there will be new shoppers coming in that need a new car.

Just stopped by my dealer and looked at the one '14 they have left. Jasmine Green Premium.

Seats were comfortable.. I (with a 30" inseam) could comfortably sit behind the front seat with it completely to the rear (up front my feet were about 6" back from the firewall ) Visibility is the best I've seen in a late model car. Hood's character lines look attractive from inside. Fit, finish and materials are on par with the 2.0i Impreza (ie: good enough.. nothing fancy, hard plastics will be hard plastics, but these are in non-critical areas).

Now, to get my step-dad into one...

Been getting some in the last two weeks and finally got a chance to check one out. The N/A's are just what they are. Typical forester, you're either going to like or hate the looks but I happen to like them.

Today we got an xt in today at least the first one I noticed. Msrp was 34k. Not sure what the options were but it didn't have hid's (I don't even know if that's an option) and didn't have that style lighting in the headlights like a lot of the pictures showed which was kind of disappointing. I thought that really made the car pop.

I like it but those chrome fog light housings have got to go.

Wheels are kinda meh....Might look better on white or black

Quick pull for those curious of how they move. This was in sport sharp.

Sat in and rode around the lot in the back seat. I'm only 6 years old after all...

Seriously, I just dropped by to look at it. Salesman hadn't gotten to look at it either so we poked around a bit and then he decided to move it (from the roadside) next to the showroom. It wasn't as huge as some posts here had me concerned it would be, which was mostly what I wanted to see.

A part of my test drive was having someone drive my car or similar car while I sat in the passenger's seat and rear seats. It's nice to know what some of my passengers may feel while I'm driving. Of course I wouldn't be able to tell how they feel when I'm driving exactly (throttle input, braking habits, etc) but I got a good idea of how they felt.

A quick check of the SNE1 site shows only 4 2013 XTs in all of New England. Where as for the other Forester models there are lots of 2012s still around, never mind all the 2013s.

Post Test drove a 2014 2.5i Limited yesterday

Test drove a 2014 2.5i Limited yesterday. Summary...

Liked:
* Quiet ride
* Visibility
* Sunroof
* CVT is responsive
* Power tail gate
* Rear leg room
* Cargo room
* Fit and finish has improved marginally

Disliked:
* Exterior styling already looks dated
* Interior still looks cheap (not as good as Outback)
* Body roll
* Seats (not supportive)
* Backup camera display (could be bigger)
* No paddle shifters
* Rattles

I do enjoy the back seat perspective.. I usually don't think about it until after I've purchased the car and then I feel bad when it's too tight or noisy.

We didn't break 10mph, but the back of the Forester was a pleasant place to be.

Edit: oh, yeah.. the back up camera display being all the way forward on the dash (in the dash-top info display) is another selling point for my step-dad.. he can't see well within arms reach, so even head unit backup camera displays (like the one in my truck) are difficult for him to use effectively.

Yeah watching the vid it seems to move. Honestly it just feels smooth. Seems the new cvt really does a decent job with the "8" speed ratio. Other then that it drives and feel like being in a typical Subaru.

I test drove a fully loaded xt the other day and was def feeling it. The cvt is more refined than the impreza and outback (obviously more power, more responsive, and quieter). Back up cam was good enough. It shows you the back of your car, what else did you want it to do for you? Handling is excellent and Predictable.... good when turning sharply or swerving. Both front and rear seats had plenty of room for me (5ft7). I'm sure if you are about 6ft tall the car would still work for you. Exterior styling looks much barter in person (nat aspir. model ext doesnt look too good in my opinion. To top it off i was able to get factory invoice minus dealer hold back :-)

Wonder how the 2.5/XT will drive/feel compared to the CX-5. The Mazda is the closest thing to a driver's CUV that I have been behind the wheel of.

Sorry had to remove the vid. Some homo from clubwrx got all mad and all but threatened to report me even though he doesn't know where I work or where the video was even taken. But anyway I'm sorry. My intentions was to show possible buyers how the cars power band was. I will say it is in the PDI procedure to test the vehicle to make sure there are no drive ability issues. Guess one homo ruins it for everyone else.
