Dominick Infante just said on the Q&A that the new Forester will arrive in March but some might trickle into dealers in February.

I just can't wait for training.

Well, the Q&A seemed to squash that! Ordering in February. Probably late March early April.

Dude. Quit typing faster than me!!

I looks more informative and down right cool compared to the current 80's style digital clock they currently offer.

One last question, do we know the MPG on the turbo XT version? I noticed he mentioned the 2.5i, but I don't remember him mentioning the turbo.

Look at the PDF.

Quote:
Manufacturer-estimated fuel economy
(City/highway/combined mpg)
2.5i 6-speed: 22/29/24
2.5i CVT: 24/32/27
2.0XT (all have CVT): 23/28/25
And yes, the USDM 2014 Subaru Forester will have keyless entry and push button start on select trims and can be had with EyeSight together. Unfortunately we only get half of the SAP package AKA we don't get rear vents or saddle leather like the 2013 Subaru Outback and Legacy. On touring trims from the last generation there were turn signal indicators on the side view mirrors but that was apart of the SAP package for the Outback and Legacy models.

The MID (multi-information display) is there with vehicles that have x-MODE from what I can see looking at all of the images and specifications. I'm not sure if it's there on the base model without x-MODE but why wouldn't it be? It'd be really odd if Subaru kept the base model dash completely different from the other trims so it's safe to assume the base model has the MID even without x-MODE. It displays other things besides x-MODE so that's what the base model can use the MID for.

It looks like they are calling those features "Driver Assist Technology Package".

As for the MID, the way it was described, the base model will get the same thing the Impreza has and Premium and up will get the nice color display.

Yes, very annoying and very unprofessional trying to sweep that information under the rug like that or the fact that it doesn't have 250 HP at 91 octane.

Was the Q&A after the live unveiling? I submitted a question but I can remember what it was now. Did they record or stream the Q&A session live? They need to upload the list of questions they answered with the answers.

Premium CVT with standard panoramic moonroof + optional AWP should be a big seller.

93 octane is readily available in most of the country. The major exceptions are in the mountains and the West Coast states. The STI has long advertised its horsepower with the 93 octane requirement and people drive them happily in California where 93 is generally unavailable.

One of the questions during the Q&A was whether regular could be safely used in the XT, or did it require mid-grade or premium. Dominick Infante responded that regular was fine but power would be reduced. He said if you're cruising on a long trip and re-filling frequently, then regular was the way to go.

Here's a fun fact:

XT gets better overall MPG than 2.5i manual.

I'm sold. Eyesight, with keyless start and the multi-function display is what I've been waiting for on a new Subaru. I almost picked up the new Outback, but decided to wait to see what this would offer. After the reveal in Japan, I thought for sure we would get a watered down version. My only complaint is I haven't seen any mention of memory seats, but it's still early. The turn signals on the side mirrors would be nice too, but I'm still very pleased with this 2014 so far.

This is very confusing. 2013 models have a towing capacity of 2500 and yet the 2014 has only 1500??? The base engine is the same so I don't see how it can't tow the same weight.
Also, the approach angle for the JDM is 25, yet SOA is 23????
And I agree for the fuel, basically we can't get 250 out of our engines here.
Guess ill have to wait till te brochures come out with actuall concrete numbers.

The Q&A was on after the unveiling and is still up on their site: http://www.subaru.com/auto-show/la-2012.html I had to refresh my browser for it to appear.

93 is also hard to get in Iowa and Wisconsin, but it's readily available in MN and IL...go figure

Check out the PDF links a few posts up. They've got all the features broken out pretty thoroughly... I'd say you're out of luck for memory seats. You'll have to get a Touring trim with the Driver Assist Technology Package to get Eyesight & keyless start. Touring does come standard with signal mirrors.

We have 93 in N.E. Iowa, mostly 92, but a few stations sell 93.

So far, I'm happy with what I see and I'll be ordering an XT.
