Default Custom clutch masters fx400 8 puck

So I thought I'd make a small update while I'm waiting for it to come in on my choice and whatnot.

So I was looking for a clutch. I wanted something that can take any power the stock motor will throw at it, and more if need be. I also wanted a stock/slightly heavier pedal feel and a not super harsh engagement so I don't want to hate life every day I drive it, and so my go can very easily drive it and not have a steep learning curve. Also wanted it to have as little chatter as possible.

That being said a light weight flywheel was out of the question, as was (most) a 6 puck or any puck style clutch, all act's were too stiff in the pedal department for my liking and the exedy stage 1/stage 1 hd I was afraid couldn't hold the power. So then came along my choice.

I thought long and hard about this, despite a few negatives from Subaru guys (rob and Dewey hahaha) I heard nothing but amazing things about clutch masters clutches. So I thought I would give them a try. It took me a while to decide on which one to run. The fx100 wouldn't handle much more than stock power and the fx200 or fx300 was Kevlar and I was worried about over heating it road racing or launching. So then came the fx400 6 puck. While I initially thought wooooohhhh no way not a 6 puck, I heard noting but amazing things about the light pedal and good drivability etc from other people. So I was about to pull the trigger on it and I was quickly stopped by my buddy at sound performance. He convinced me to try their version of the fx400.

The fx400 I purchased was a ceramic "8 puck" clutch with the high rev pressure plate so it should have a stock feeling pedal and engage a tad quicker than stock. But still hold the power of the 6 puck version and still withstand the harshness of launching it. To my knowledge I am the first one to use one like this (at least from CM) so I m excited to try it. I will post reviews and updates as I go along.
