Default American / Japanese bumpers

Hi all,

I'm not sure if this has already been wandered, but there is this 2 piece rear bumper lip on ebay that I want to buy but th listing States that its for WRX models only and I just have an ordinary 1.5 L wagon. 2002 model from Japan. Are the American rear bumpers exactly the same as the Japanese ones?

A lot of those companies don't know because the products they make are crappy knockoffs.. there are differences in the GD impress rear bumpers.

02-03

04-05

06-07

as far as wagons go you will really going to have to check not to sure on the differences. Should not be a difference between usdm and jdm.

The 02-03 have the sides that extend down and the area at the top where the trunk closes sits flush with the trunk. The 04+ have a rounded bottom and the trunk area tapers out and is cut a little with the updated tail lights. The 05+ sti's also have the rear piece that flares into the wheel arch as well.

Wagon bumpers are completely different from any of them though.

It looks very similar, if not the same as my old 02 wrx wagon, and I had those exact same rear pieces on mine. Required a little heat gun massage, but install went well.

My spare wagon usdm WRX bumper:

Yes the ebay pieces, BaysonR perhaps? I don't remember. These are easier to heat and mold than OEM.

Thats my old ride, sold it last fall.

Here she was in her prime, TD06 20G and a bunch of goodies:
