Well I'm going to go forward and Plasti my roof. I've got some tree sap that I removed that ate through the clear coat and I can't completely get it off without repainting.

Was going to invest in a power spray to make sure I get a good cover. Any suggestions?

Plasti dip is great stuff when used thick layers.

Lol, I agree, it was either terribly done or someone did it to mess with them. Never seen that happen

Probably tried to peel it off and got lazy half way through. Or, he started to peel them off and his pregnant wife had a craving for chocolate covered pretzels so he had to go to the store before he could finish .

At least you didnt spend that much on 13 cans in the states. $25 per can here in Australia. Just save them for other things you can try, wheels, interior etc. Or someone that would swap etc.

Yea, this thread has become very popular. All your questions can/will be answered thru the links provided on the first post or search thru the thread for video links.
I wish I had an answer for your question. For that reason is why I refereed you to the very first post. I personally do not know. I would think the clear coat makes the plasti dip shine like regular paint with clear coat. That is the purpose of clear coat right? To make things appear shiny?

So what is your point? So its peels off. We know that. But PD doesnt just peel off. You have to scratch at it and pull it off.

Bike looks great. I wish pd was around back when I had my bike. It'll probably wear down on the tank scallops after a day of spirited riding.

Good ideas bad execution. I'm not saying it looks bad, but it looks unevenly coated. My wheels are the same way.

there are 2 products via plastidip, clear plastidip and glossifier. The clear PD will give anything a matte finish to it. The glossifier (which I don't know if it peels like plastidip without plastidip beneath it) will add that clear coat look (apparently) the pics I see, it doesn't seem to give it that glassy finish, just somewhat shiny. The clear plastidip does peel away like the colored plastidips

Try spraying the black and bronze together crossing the streams (yes like Ghostbusters lol) in mid air. It will coat evenly.

Unfortunately I agree

BUT its only plastidip so ill peel it off when Im bored with it

Its incredibly hard to spray all sides of the spokes, leave an even and thin coat, and not leave some areas over-saturated.

I made sure to make the coat on the tank super thick. I put probably about 15 layers on the tank, mainly where I knew my body would have some heavy contact.

I do have to say though, matte white is a b*tch to keep clean.

Let us know how it holds up on the tank because I want to dip my bike this summer.
